Is anyone into THE MARS VOLTA? They are made up of remnants from AT THE DRIVE IN apparently... i think i got that right.
I saw the album De-loused in the comatorium in a Best Albums of 2003 list and thought i'd check it out, found an album dl stream and just want to
know some more about the band and what the story is

The only time I saw them was on that video show that the bot was on Fuse TV I think, and I thought they were really good. I didn't know there
were members from ATDI. That's incentive enough for me to check out. I dig the hell out of ATDI, and Sparta.

FYI there is a fansite called "The Comatorium" (which i'm sure is where Lomax got his 15 or so bootlegs) which kicks almost as much ass
as this one does, although not quite.
I was unsure about this band, so i downloaded a few tracks off the net (i know, i know.... but i'll definately be buying this one, soon) and then
started reading some of the interpretations of the meaning of the album (it is versceral and deep lyrically) and i was blown away by what people were
saying. It is a poetic, tradgic, fascinating and mythical relation of the story of a drug addict who attempts to overdose and falls into a coma only
to recover and, as a result of his experience whilst comatose, decides to kill himself.
Not necessarily one i would recommend to fans of The 'Bot, but perhaps if you've enjoyed any of The Residents albums (as i am), or are
interested in concept albums maybe check it out. Also, this band might be the closest thing to a band that fans of Mr Bungle could enjoy without
feeling that they are just a rip-off. These guys are incredible genuine but there are musical change-ups and a certain depth of meaning that you
don't often find.
