The Sound and Kill Hannah.

sevenblur - 1-26-2004 at 09:59 PM

What do you guys think of the Sounds? Some of my friends dont like her voice that much, but I have to admit that I do like the band. Kill Hannah is cool too, but I have only heard one song from them, and I did like it. Cant really judge on one song, although, I bought Ima right after I heard Dynomite and found out that I liked all the songs on the LP. So, you never know...Tell me what you guys think.
Peace

MichelleRene - 1-27-2004 at 06:33 AM

Yeah, her voice isn't that strong but she's so cute!

Hey, Sevenblur have you seen the rest of the band that backs her up? Talk about cuties!!! I know they're probably 10 years younger than me, but damn....they look like the little boys back when I was younger---kinda Robert Smith meets the Blondie boys! Love their retro look! Now, if I was only 10 years younger and.....I'm very excited to see them. I went onto Kill Hannahs site and checked them out, but I haven't heard their music yet....what do they sound like? Maybe I'll check out their site again and listen to a download or something. I'm looking forward to them as well. I think this tour is gonna be a fun one!!:D

chiefkaterina - 1-27-2004 at 10:32 AM

hello, i am the sounds number 1 fan here. they are amazing live you guys have no idea. ahhhh im so jealous i want to see them again so bad!
i love maja's voice she is amazing and beautiful and is full of so much energy.
and the boys, felix, jesper, johan, and fredrick they are awesome and so nice. be sure to meet them after the show, they are great!

sevenblur - 1-27-2004 at 05:16 PM

Well, Michelle, I have seen them and they are extrememly cute. The entire band reminds of that whole Blondie era, I can wait to see them live. I do love the lead singer MAJA, she is so beautiful and does look like Debbie from Blondie. I think I will most defintely try to talk to one of the Sounds memebers (hehehe).
And Chief, where are you from? I think that we are extremely lucky to be able to see them in the next couple of months. I cut my hair so that by the show is long enough and putting in some blond chunks later on just to add color, instead of just all black. Anyhows, I am very excited about the show and KILL HANNAH is awesome, they are kind of dark with pop sound to them. They kind of remind me of Joy Division. Anyhow...enough talk.
Peace out peeps

chiefkaterina - 1-28-2004 at 03:53 PM

i am from sacramento. yeah, you guys are totally lucky!

the sounds

Noisemonster - 1-29-2004 at 04:33 AM

Yeah, I like them a lot, too! Once again a cool band from Sweden. You're right, Maja's voice isn't really that good - but that makes her so cute... hmmm, I'd love to see them play live! You luckies!
My favorites on their album are 'dance with me' and 'mine for life'.

MichelleRene - 1-29-2004 at 06:19 AM

Cool, I can't wait to see The Sounds. I saw them first on FUSE and liked their video.

Yeah, there are alot of cool new bands from Sweeden. One of my all time old favorites were fronted by Danish Mike Monroe---HANOI ROCKS!! Oh my, how I love that band. All the guys were so cool until that asshole (fat ass (sorry)) Vince Neil killed their drummer Razzle. But, life goes on. HANOI ROCKS!

sevenblur - 1-29-2004 at 04:50 PM

Talking about Swedes or peeps from the Netherlands, I thought the HIves had a good play over here in the states, even though they only had one song hit here in the states. I love Maja, if I was gay or man I would totally love to put her in bed :D. But I will go for one of the boys in the band, I mean there are four of them (hehehehe).
Noisemonster, I also LOVE dance with me, and 7days a week. They were on Subterranean on MTV talking about the band, cant remember what they said, but I thought it was cool
I have no idea who Hanoi is? What year of the 80's were they big. I even remember Kajagoogoo, but not HANOI, refresh my memory.
Peace

MichelleRene - 1-31-2004 at 06:55 AM

Hanoi Rocks was a really cool Glammy type band that were out in the early 80's. Then Fat ass Vince Neil from Motley Crue killed their drummer Razzle in a car accident, he was drunk! Motley Crue pretty much stole Hanoi's look and style in my opinion, check out the photos of Hanoi under Everything 80's thread.

Hanoi was really popular around baltimore in the late 80's with the Glam crowd----All the boys here dressed up like them with the velvet jackets and hats, makeup, ruffled shirts, etc. Ahhhhh....the boys back then were beautiful. I don't think they aired much on MTV back then, but they were on Headbangers Ball back in like 89', I think. They were alot of fun.:D

sevenblur - 1-31-2004 at 10:25 PM

HAHAHAHA Michelle, I think we need to place a little bet!!!!
How many are in the pot?
Just kidding, but I try to never back down from a good dare, but if you bet me one of the boys from Sounds, I think I would take that more easily...

Anyone else in on the bet???

Peace

RoboticTerrorSTD - 2-1-2004 at 04:17 PM

you can count me in on that bet. just kidding.
but really now she is a hottie and the Sounds are soooo friggin' good. I can't wait to see them, as for Kill Hannah, what i have heard from them i didn't really like.

[Edited on 2/2/2004 by RoboticTerrorSTD]

sevenblur - 2-1-2004 at 09:13 PM

I think we should defintiely let in Robotic to the bet...any blokes out there that want to join the bet?
Peace

MichelleRene - 2-2-2004 at 09:14 AM

No, I don't want to be in on the bet, but I'll definitely be watching......after seeing The Sounds video and photos on Kill Hannahs website.....it's definitely worth a good, long, hard look.

My friend Char may take you up on grabbing butts----I didn't know she did that the last time the Robot came around. She didn't tell me til like a week later. She's a riot! Sorry guys.....

MichelleRene - 2-3-2004 at 07:07 AM

Damn.........:wow:

MichelleRene - 2-3-2004 at 07:20 AM

hmmmmm.....that should hold you over til March SevenBlur! I think the Nikki Sixx under eye thing has got to go. Hey, I'm mailing your tie on Friday, ok....:no:

ahhhh look at beautiful felix (3rd from left) yummmmm

poobs - 2-3-2004 at 11:03 AM

Eh..She doesn't do it for me so much..The boys are adorable!

chiefkaterina - 2-3-2004 at 02:51 PM

she is super cool live, you'll like her more when you see her live. hey, they all are

Oooops....sorry

MichelleRene - 2-4-2004 at 06:14 AM

Hey, what happened to the Kill Hannah photo? Did we get into trouble again for pirating photos......sorry. Let me know and I won't do it anymore.....

TurtleEnterprises - 2-4-2004 at 11:29 AM

she doesn't do it for me either... and the guys are okay. I'm sure their all better live:yes:

sevenblur - 2-5-2004 at 04:11 PM

Yo...I just bought the Sound's Living in America, and I have to say that the music is really good. I like it a lot and her voice is cool. I guess I just like the synthesizers that they use and it reminds of mid-80's pop blended with the Blondie era, its really fun music if you just dont want to put any significant meaning to the music and just listen to a good beat.

I was wondering if Alex might fall for Maja...she is quite beautiful and they would make a wonderfully music talented couple, but that is just the girlie female side of me talking.
Anyhows...Hope everyone is well...
peace

TurtleEnterprises - 2-5-2004 at 10:54 PM

I love music that just sounds good, music that you here the words but don't really care what their singing bout. As long as it's a good beat something, to dance to. :)

MichelleRene - 2-6-2004 at 11:32 AM

Yeah, that kind of music is alot of fun. I think the show will be entertaining to say the least. I think Maja is cute...I bet her accent will be nice to hear as well.....I'm a sucker for accents (remember Jamie Lee Curtis in "A Fish Called Wanda" ?) Kinda like that.

As far as her and Alex, I hear he has a beautiful girlfriend already, so that one is doubtful.

inlimbo - 2-7-2004 at 09:31 PM

this is an old pic - c. 2001
but the latest photo shoot, for the new album etc. was awful. very bad pics :(

*KILL HANNAH*
this one's ok too - rather new.

Is it Kennedy that you heard from Kill Hannah?

For anyone who hasn't heard KH and would like to, I can send you either a cd single (Kennedy) or possibly the new album, or burned copies of the older material... whatever you want.
just let me know. I know it's usually more enjoyable to go to a show when you've heard all the bands who are playing..

:D I am so excited to see Kill Hannah and Ima Robot on the same tour!

poobs - 2-8-2004 at 12:27 AM

I've never heard them, but I already don't like them..They look like they're trying too hard.. But, I will put my negativity aside and give them a chance!!I'm sure I'll be pleasantly surprised..

MichelleRene - 2-8-2004 at 06:47 AM

Yeah, I heard one song of of theirs on their website, and it was kinda blah...but I'll definitely give them a chance, in that they are just adorable little guys!!!

I read some things on their message board to see what their vibe was and they have alot of young girl fans it seems...gee, go figure.

None the less, I'm looking forward to the show...I hope I still can go.

inlimbo - 2-8-2004 at 03:54 PM

lol they're not really too concerned about their 'image'

i could have posted one of the candid ones but then people think they're a little "off" hahahaha

i guess i don't really care much for the sounds, they don't seem to have much of an identity to me... some of my friends love them but it just bored me

it'll be interesting to see it live now

MichelleRene - 2-9-2004 at 09:12 AM

:o:o:o:o:o:o:o

Funny photo....I can't wait to see the show!

TurtleEnterprises - 2-9-2004 at 09:37 PM

I don't know who either of those bands are, nor have I heard of them. Or know of anyone who listens to them. Just like Junior Senior, never heard of them before I seen them on tour with IMA ROBOT. They were the only band I ever seen live, that I didn't like and still don't.

I am not sure...I saw the video on Subterranean, and it was a live show, I didnt pay attention to the name of the video, but it was nice and slow, and I suppose the young female fanbase is because they are cute.
I have to give them credit for their music, the one song that I heard was pretty good, and that is how I came along Ima and the songs, listening to one song and buying the album on hope.
But, I still like more upbeat music, personally, nothing too down. The only down music i listen to is by HIM... they are great, you should take a listen, Finnish band...nice, and neogoth.
I still am loving The Sounds, I listen to them when I am on the stairmaster at my school gym, and it gives me energy.
Peace peeps

inlimbo - 2-10-2004 at 06:51 PM

yeah i've heard HIM but they never really grabbed me... i find the videos to be amusing ;) Razorblade Romance has some VERY loyal followers though, some of my firends are big fans.

hmm another part of the scandinavian invasion..

inlimbo - 2-11-2004 at 06:42 PM

just in case anyone's interested, i guess the Sounds cancelled everything after March 6th as well, they'll be opening for the Strokes instead

SOUNDS TOUR

draconian - 2-12-2004 at 06:09 AM

The plot thickens.

MichelleRene - 2-12-2004 at 07:40 AM

Man, I wish they could start confirming some of the (cancelled) dates. Wow....too bad the Robot can't hop on the Strokes tour too. That would be great exposure for them. Maybe that's what they're working on and why it's been kinda hush, hush.....

I guess I'll wait til last minute to get a ticket for the Philly show---just in case they cancel........

draconian - 2-13-2004 at 09:01 AM

Well we had discussed Ima opening for The Strokes as a possibility, but came to the general consensus that no way would they agree to coming on after an opening act like the 'Bot. As we've seen, they are a hard act to follow indeed.

MichelleRene - 2-13-2004 at 09:07 AM

Yeah, you're right.

I saw something (I thought was) funny.

I keep checking the other websites to see if they are confirming anymore cancellations. Well anyway, on the Kill Hannah site it says (on their message board) that Ima would be opening up for Kill Hannah. Is that correct? If so, that's pretty damn funny considering I've seen nothing about KH on Fuse or Mtv2. Does anyone know if this is true??????

[Edited on 13-2-2004 by MichelleRene]

inlimbo - 2-13-2004 at 12:57 PM

that's what I was surprised at too!!
i just heard it on the board from KH's manager:
Quote:

For all dates, except those on the West Coast, Kill Hannah will be main support...meaning IMA Robot will open the show followed by KH then The Sounds.

but..yeah. it's not like KH hasn't been given incorrect information before so who knows, it could change.

KH doesn't have a video for this album yet. Atlantic isn't exactly springing to help them promote either (don't get me started). KH has been on Last Call, Advance Warning (with IR of course), and IMX but the only videos that have been played were on chicago indie stations.
yeah i assumed KH would be the underdog here. i think it's funny that just when i think KH actually got a break - by NOT being first onstage - both ima robot and the sounds bail! i swear they're cursed

MichelleRene - 2-13-2004 at 03:46 PM

Ima Robot's set rocks and KH is a little more mellow......it's going to put me into full overdrive listening to the Bot and then I'll be going in reverse when KH comes on. I guess I'll be steered into neutral when the Sounds come on.

After the Bot plays where the hell am I going to direct all my crazy energy?

sevenblur - 2-13-2004 at 07:39 PM

To be honest with you, if IR would open for the Strokes, I think it would be dissappointing to the fans that there is a better band out there than Strokes. I know that Julian Casablanca doesnt even move when he is singing on stage, no one in the entire group moves, they just stand there and do their thing. On the other hand IR moves around and does thier own thing and give energy to the audience. Too much energy would put the strokes fans into overdrive (like Michelle said) and the energy would just fester when the strokes would come out and lame their mellow slow show.
Oh well :rolleyes::rolleyes:
Peace peeps

MichelleRene - 2-16-2004 at 08:20 AM

Any news on new dates added? I'm still debating the Philly show.....I really want to go!!!
