Seb - 2-18-2004 at 02:25 PM

I was wondering if anyone on here listens to Against Me!? They are from Gainesville, Florida. They have a few MP3's on their website.

sorry Seb never even heard of em'

MichelleRene - 2-19-2004 at 05:24 AM

I've never heard of them either. What kind of music is it?

By the way I love your Willy Hung avatar! The "Bang" part gets me...it reminds me of the old Batman episodes..."Caaapoow!", "Boooom!", "She Banggggg"...

DJAtticDragon - 2-19-2004 at 06:38 AM

I'm interested, what kind of music are they frontin.

Peace!

Seb - 2-19-2004 at 09:30 AM

They play a folkish kind of punk. I think they are fucking awesome, but the singer isnt the best, so most people dont relaly like them.
Heres their site, http://againstme.net/.

TurtleEnterprises - 2-19-2004 at 10:37 AM

wow someones a fan! :) what are you getting outta all this promotion:yes:?

DJAtticDragon - 2-19-2004 at 11:11 AM

Okay, I listened to em...now what should I do first, shoot myself in the foot, or...beat myself over the head with a basesall bat. Your right, this guy can't sing, MAN! no intonation WHATSOEVER!!! As far as everthing else, I'd get tired of the same 4 chords being played over and over again, I don't know, to each their own. Man...I feel stupider just for listening to it.

Cool, Thankyou for sharing :D, You got to tell me how you got the songs up and running like that so I could post my remix like that.

Peace! morecoolthanFreddyJacksonsippinonamilkshake...

RoboticTerrorSTD - 2-19-2004 at 12:49 PM

i didn't really like them....i guess mostly because of the singer.:wow:

MichelleRene - 2-19-2004 at 01:31 PM

Yeah Seb, thanks for sharing. How did you hear about this band? Are they popular where you live?

Thanksforsharingsebeventhoughdragondidn'tappreciateit.....:lol::wow:

Seb - 2-19-2004 at 03:28 PM

Like I said before, the singer is really bad. I had a feeling most of you wouldnt like them. MichelleRene, I have been listening to them for a while. They are not very popular where I live(they arent popular in general). The music scene in Vancouver is pretty crappy, everyone listens to Nickelback, etc...

filfofepitomy - 3-3-2004 at 10:51 PM

Did AgainstMe! change singers or something? I always kind of liked their singer...one of the few who always had emotion in his voice.

I recommend "Walking Is Still Honest."

They have the same singer. The recording for The eternal cowboy is better than previous records, his voice has also improved.

Hence why I like "Walking is Still Honest."

That was first AgainstMe! song I'd ever heard, and I was blown away just from that one song. Havn't heard the newer stuff yet...but I really liked "Reinventing Axl Rose". Hmm....

glamcore - 3-4-2004 at 01:02 PM

The new Against Me! is fab. I'm not really for the old stuff, but the new album drives me mad!

Dang! I remember hearing he had financial problems, but that's low.

Seb - 6-11-2005 at 10:16 AM

I finally saw AM! a week ago, it was the best show I have ever seen and will probably be one of the best shows I will ever see. I was nust, I got the whole Against Me! experience. By the end of the concert we were all on stage singing along, passing the mic around. Theres a bit of a recap and photos on this page http://againstme.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=1354 . You can see me in the third photo, im in the middle with the orange tshirt.

imarob2 - 6-14-2005 at 01:45 PM

i totally agree... they are amazing live. except while at their show, i got punched in the back in the head and lost my brand new exactly-a-week-old glasses into the pit. definitely a downer... still, one of the best shows ive been to. just make sure to wear contacts, if need be;)
