The Beat-sies are BACK w/a bang!!

Yesterday has to go down in marketing history.

First the new Beastie release is debuted on KROQ in the morning, then I hear it on Indie on my way to Torrance to visit the homey(Keg-erator in full affect), and the topper is I watched "OC" for the first time ever w/friends, and "Ch-Check It Out" is played twice in background.

You can check out the new video here:

That was Spike Jonze's video, right? I am completely clueless about this release...the track sounded very Public Enemy so I'm (probably mistakenly) extrapolating this will be a Rick Rubin-produced album?

I have no clue. All of this has hit me blind-sided.

I saw the video on MTV earlier... it wasn't a Spike Jonze video, it was credited to Nathaniel Hornblower. I thought the video was a little cheesy though. Pretty cool song anyway!

Was much more excited by the premiere of The Roots video though! :)

Which Roots video?

Also, I thought Nathanial Hornblower was Spike Jonze.

Might have to break down and Google it all!

I thought Hornblower was the pseudonym for one of the Beasties when they direct on their own?

It was the video for The Roots "Don't Say Nuthin'" which I guess is the first single from their new album... which has been pushed back to July now.

Nathaniel Hornblower = Adam Yauch(A.K.A. MCA).

Got it.

Heard a bunch of the new Roots tracks when they played here in March--there was one that played a lot with volume changes and it was the standout of the bunch. Wonder if that's the single.

Eh..I'm not impressed..It sounds pretty much just like everything else they put out..To me, at least..;)
