poobs - 9-14-2004 at 06:57 PM

I thought I saw that they were doing an in-store at the Virgin Megastore on..Is it Market? Down in Union Square..I might have read it wrong though..

happysmilely - 9-14-2004 at 08:16 PM

humm... you must tell me how the show was, if you go
my freind told me it wasn't that great.
He likes them and so on, but not a good live show?
I like um, but have never seen them live.
anyone ever seen them?
unless I hear otherwise I'm trusting my friend and not paying the $$ to see um.

TurtleEnterprises - 9-14-2004 at 09:34 PM

I don't like Interpol ...blah

prettyvacant - 9-15-2004 at 12:58 AM

I don't like Interpol either, bland bland bland...... :P:duh:

Noisemonster - 9-15-2004 at 01:47 AM

i love them, but i can understand anyone not liking interpol. they're not (at all) emo, they're not party-rock, you have to listen carefully, especially how the instruments play together and create that special mood. otherwise you might think they're boring. so no band for the masses in my opinion. to me, they're just fascinating. ;) sorry turtle & pretty! i also didn't like them for a long time!
and @happy again, they were great live! do not miss them, autumn haze!;)

happysmilely - 9-15-2004 at 07:49 AM

I do like them, but I've grown detached. no not emo (trust me I know  )
Noisemonster, you make a good point(s).
I guess I might go see them. But my friend is a music major, and he has great tatses, and knows his stuff. He has yet to be wrong (p.s. he loves Ima Robot)
But hey, maybe it's his first time?
I guess I'll go and see for myself

bananaboat - 9-27-2004 at 11:13 AM

Hey hey, they came out with a new video, Slow Hands. Have you guys seen it yet?

bananaboat - 10-6-2004 at 12:38 PM

I finally got the new CD. It's so nice, very different from their old stuff.

Seb - 10-6-2004 at 07:01 PM

I got it a few days ago, its pretty damn good and it does sound different from their old stuff.

MichelleRene - 10-7-2004 at 04:15 AM

:D nthey're playing here in November...I want to go, but depends. I just got the new CD. It's great...not quite as moody. You gotta love that hot guitarist.....mmmm'hmmmm'. They were awesome on the Curiosa Festival. The front of the CD says it has a video. Do you have to watch it on the computer only?

bananaboat - 10-8-2004 at 08:19 AM

You can give it a try. Yea it said on the front that it had a video but I put the disk in the computer and I didn't see one. So maybe I got shafted, I don't know.
Do you know what those dots are about?

MichelleRene - 10-8-2004 at 10:48 AM

 I don't know what the dots are about and there was no video on it. It just takes you to a personal link to their site.

I really like "Narc" and a couple other ones on the CD. I finally got the new video taped last night of "Slow Hands" damn...can they be any freakin' hotter? I mean come on...Hot! Hot! Hot!

MichelleRene - 10-9-2004 at 05:50 AM

Wow! I listened to the CD over and over yesterday and I absolutely love "Take You on a Cruise"...definitely my favorite. It's the most heatfelt song I've heard in a while...I love the moodiness and guitars in it....ahhh man, it simply makes me want to cry........"A Time to be Small" is awesome as well....I LOVE THIS CD! I wish they weren't sold out next month....

Noisemonster - 10-9-2004 at 09:49 AM

the dots are morse codes!

i guess i don't have to say that i love the new album, too!

bananaboat - 10-9-2004 at 12:00 PM

Yea I figured that they're morse codes, but what does it say?
But damn I love Paul, I love his hair!! *sigh* I love the song Public Pervert, I love the whole CD!! :D:D I'm gonna go listen to it again. My friends and I are having a sleepover, and I'm going to bring it there for them to listen. I've been playing it over and over while "sleeping," and I'm so tired. Hahahaha

envelope - 10-10-2004 at 07:50 PM

I'll put that on my to buy list after bills. I like thier old one so I am sure to love the new one. I heard from my dad that they sound like joy division.

Noisemonster - 10-11-2004 at 12:53 AM

in the booklet:

ANTICS
LENGTH
NARC
CRUISE
EXIT

back:

ANTICS

fuck! the booklet has already got fingerprints on its black areas.

poobs - 10-11-2004 at 04:51 AM

Yeah..This is one album that'll have to wait until I can afford to stock my fridge..Then if I have anything left, I can buy it..:duh:

MichelleRene - 10-11-2004 at 04:56 AM

:D I'm so addicted to this CD....ahhhhh.....I can't say anything more about it other then I Love it!

bananaboat - 10-12-2004 at 07:43 AM

Yea I know, I got my fingerprints all over the black pages, and thanks for the interpretation Noisemonster. Hahaha, I'm addicted to the CD too. I think my Yeah Yeah Yeahs CD is jealous.
Their music is influenced by Joy Division and a bunch of other bands.

MichelleRene - 10-12-2004 at 09:02 AM

:D help me! I can't stop listening to this cd! :o:D

bananaboat - 10-19-2004 at 07:17 AM

I was listening to the CD, and I noticed that there's background noise. Does your's have that?

MichelleRene - 10-19-2004 at 09:11 AM

I heard background noise after the first or second song...kinda like they played live at some beatnik club or something....is that what you heard?

poobs - 10-19-2004 at 09:58 AM

Umm..Michelle and Banana have pretty much the same sig! That's kinda creepy, you guys..:wow:

MichelleRene - 10-19-2004 at 12:40 PM

:ticking::ticking::ticking: hey...I had mine first! Now I have to change it...damnit...I love that line too.

poobs - 10-19-2004 at 01:32 PM

But now no one will know what I was talking about..:(

MichelleRene - 10-19-2004 at 01:38 PM

:no::duh::lol: oh well I changed it....they'll know.....they'll just read babanas and figure it out......

poobs - 10-19-2004 at 01:44 PM

Ok..:duh:

MichelleRene - 10-19-2004 at 01:51 PM

Hey Bananas...Interpol is suppose to be on Jimmy Kimmel next Tuesday.

The pizza made me sick......blech!

bananaboat - 10-20-2004 at 09:36 AM

Yea I hear like radio noises but it's probably the same thing to beatnik club... I really hear it before "A Time To Be Small"
Hah, that's funny, I didn't know what you were talking about Poobs. Yea another line I like is, "Just go crazy like the good old days/You make me want to pick up a guitar/And celebrate the myriad ways that I love you." tee hee Those lines make me giggle the most.

MichelleRene - 10-21-2004 at 06:48 AM

I heard alot of noise during the first song.....like a crowd or something. This CD has such a NY ambience....I love it.:)

bananaboat - 10-21-2004 at 03:36 PM

Hey did you see the recent stuff on them from opendisc? It's pretty neat. I found the ending to the "Awaken" video poignant.

MichelleRene - 10-21-2004 at 05:23 PM

:wow::wow::wow::o no...I have to check it out. Thanks for the info......You know what? "Public Pervert" is such a catchy song....I really like it.

bananaboat - 10-22-2004 at 08:29 AM

Yea tee hee I know. I like to dance to it even though my friends say it's too slow. Do a little Axl Rose. Hahahaha
