Why did i bother?
Last night i had the misfortune of going to see Paul Weller.. Fuck it was boring.. Does the man not know the meaning of the word embarrassment.. His new Lp consists of covers and boy did he crucify a few good songs.. I'm not a fan anyway but the sound of a nice small gig being filmed for a tv special sucked me in.. I mean the Jam where a good band and the Style Council were so so but on his own shit boring shit..
Still I've got the Moving Units tomorrow night :D

but now I have slown down on my concerts. It was weekly or more. Now It's about 1/5 that. I need to do well in school and so on. Save my time/money for important shows, like IMa...

I don't think I went to any shows last week, but the week before that I saw Hanson and Rockett Queen twice. I'm seeing Rockett Queen again on Friday, but I really want to see Fishboy in Denton. However, I already Kayla I'd go with her on Fri. and I don't have a way to get to Denton. Oh well.

Hmm..Last week was rare for me..I haven't gone to any shows for a while since I'm so dirt poor, but I got to see Head Automatica on Tuesday and The French Kicks and Keane (my new obsession) on Friday..I've just looked into getting tix for Moving Units when they play here in November..

She was great, it was part of a movie/music festival in LA in August. Jon Brion opened for her. It was fun show, with a lot of energy.

Beck's last touring guitarist is her new guitarist too!

I've just got back from seeing the Moving Units at the Metro.. :no:

They didn't move me...

But before i went there i went to the Borderline and saw Towers of London.. Highly entertaining.. They were so bad they were great.. Fighting with the bouncers as well as the audience.. The singer climbed behind the bar and started helping himself to drinks until he was dragged back over the bar by bouncers,i've got a gash on my ankle where he threw the mic stand into the crowd and as for the music.. What a glorious racket :yes:

KMFDM-------------------- Nov. 5th. (night before my b-day)

Too many shows...too little cash...ahhh...but, since they're around my birthday weekend I'll be able to hopefully go to all of them. :yes:

Ouch my belly hurts

Overtime tonight.. I did 3 gigs and went to an art gallery..
First stop was the art gallery.. Hmmmm the less said about that the better.. So the first gig was at a new place called Nambucca (a large pub on the Holloway Road) where i saw a good 3 piece electro pop band from Leeds called The Research and a not so good band called Vincent Vincent and the Villians described as 50's with a twist.. Back to the Art gallery in Hoxton where Gobsausage played a rather chaotic 15 minute set.. Then onto the 12 Bar Club in Londons West End where i saw Ed Tenpole Tudor (excellent as always),Dustins Bar Mitzvah (young upstarts too pissed to stand up let alone play) and an Elvis tribute band called Viva Las Vegas.. Ouch my belly still hurt so i left after two songs..

Just got back from the Fieries. Want to tell you it sucked but I can't. They were royally cool. Openers French Kicks and White Magic also worth the cheapo $10 entry.

This week i'm going to see.. Siouxsie at the 100 Club on Tuesday,Subways at the Buffalo Bar on Wednesday and also Golden Virgins and Hard Fi at 93ft East,Siouxsie again on Thursday if she's any good.. On Friday there's a Ramones do in Camden with a million bands including Ramonas,53rd and 3rd,Parkinsons,Toxic Slut,Girls on Top and also Gobsausage and then Gobsausage on Sunday too.. :yes:

Yeah it was fun.. There was about a billyion bands playing and they all did one or two Ramones songs each except 53rd and 3rd who did a half hour set..

I saw them on there own tour, Trills played opener (they were ok live).
the guys from the Trills use to live in San Diego (sadly where I live) and they worked at Sea World. Like every other San Diego musican.

I just got back from seeing Death Cab For Cutie. I hadn't ever listened to them before, but a friend had a spare ticket. He lent me a few of their discs this weekend, and I liked it. Had a really good time. THe opening band, Pretty Girls Make Graves, was pretty blah though.
