Why did i bother?
Last night i had the misfortune of going to see Paul Weller.. Fuck it was boring.. Does the man not know the meaning of the word embarrassment.. His
new Lp consists of covers and boy did he crucify a few good songs.. I'm not a fan anyway but the sound of a nice small gig being filmed for a tv
special sucked me in.. I mean the Jam where a good band and the Style Council were so so but on his own shit boring shit..
Still I've got the Moving Units tomorrow night :Dprettyvacant - 9-15-2004 at 11:07 AM

I've just got back from seeing the Moving Units at the Metro..
They didn't move me...
But before i went there i went to the Borderline and saw Towers of London.. Highly entertaining.. They were so bad they were great.. Fighting with the
bouncers as well as the audience.. The singer climbed behind the bar and started helping himself to drinks until he was dragged back over the bar by
bouncers,i've got a gash on my ankle where he threw the mic stand into the crowd and as for the music.. What a glorious racket
happysmilely - 9-16-2004 at 07:25 PM
aww. I liked them, but I saw them with Fever, Fever was way better, but they were good.happysmilely - 9-16-2004 at 07:25 PM

None lately BUT! Right around my birthday there are a shitload of great shows in Baltimore!
Too many shows...too little cash...ahhh...but, since they're around my birthday weekend I'll be able to hopefully go to all of them.DylerPlummer - 9-17-2004 at 04:31 PM
Ouch my belly hurts
Overtime tonight.. I did 3 gigs and went to an art gallery..
First stop was the art gallery.. Hmmmm the less said about that the better.. So the first gig was at a new place called Nambucca (a large pub on
the Holloway Road) where i saw a good 3 piece electro pop band from Leeds called The Research and a not so good band called Vincent Vincent and the
Villians described as 50's with a twist.. Back to the Art gallery in Hoxton where Gobsausage played a rather chaotic 15 minute set.. Then onto
the 12 Bar Club in Londons West End where i saw Ed Tenpole Tudor (excellent as always),Dustins Bar Mitzvah (young upstarts too pissed to stand up let
alone play) and an Elvis tribute band called Viva Las Vegas.. Ouch my belly still hurt so i left after two songs..happysmilely - 9-17-2004 at 06:53 PM
I like art gallerys, I went to one this week.
the Tasende Gallery (local)
I was mainly looking at the works of Andres Nagle
I need to go to MOCA, would be fun
for our art class we were going to LA county But only like 7 of us wanted to go so we didn't prettyvacant - 9-18-2004 at 04:20 AM

Just got back from the Fieries. Want to tell you it sucked but I can't. They were royally cool. Openers French Kicks and White Magic also
worth the cheapo $10 entry.
Scissor Sisters earlier in the week were just as I expected--filthy and gorgeous.seacaptain - 9-19-2004 at 09:29 AM
Yea it was cheap $10 in Boston too... I love the Furnaces, they are very cool and fun.

White Magic, a little drone-y for my tastes. Creative, but only if you like dirge rock. The keyboardist/vocalist is the sister of one of the Casual

Saw the show last Friday. Sign me up for the Josh Klinghoffer fan club. That guy is too multitalented for his own good. Concert exactly as you
said--high energy, good selection of songs--she did maybe 16 altogether?
Going to Rachel Yamagata tonight and The Faint Tuesday.Phobiac - 10-3-2004 at 12:12 PM
Went to Franz Fedinand at the Wiltern last week. Good Show...Good crowd.
Going to the Ray Charles Tribute at the Staples Center on Friday the 8th; Al Green, BB King, Billy Preston, David Newman, Elton John, Kenny Chesney,
Mary J. Blige, Mos Def, Norah Jones, Reba McEntire, Stevie Wonder, Usher and I'm sure a couple more surprises.

The Shins, The Walkmen and White Magic.DylerPlummer - 10-3-2004 at 12:18 PM

I just got back from seeing Death Cab For Cutie. I hadn't ever listened to them before, but a friend had a spare ticket. He lent me a few of
