Whenever the lovely Drac offered to take me to their show at the Viper Room..Was that 2001? Or 2002? I don't know, but I was stoked that Drac was so cool..AND I met Beck that night!!! :D

TurtleEnterprises - 11-3-2004 at 09:14 AM

When they opened for hot hot heat in oct 2003 i think it was, they totally stole the show

anQ - 11-3-2004 at 09:30 AM

Haha same as Jette...

Noisemonster - 11-3-2004 at 09:46 AM

Terremoto Festival 2003, 11:30am, i was one of like 20 viewers at this time of day, did not expect anything - then there was ima robot!

minimandy14 - 11-3-2004 at 12:09 PM

My sister had me listen to them in her car, then i saw them at warped tour 04 and i fell in love (Oligee is so hot  ). . . . . .

Evangeline - 11-3-2004 at 12:49 PM

Cute guy reccommended them. I think he was high too.

Neuwave - 11-3-2004 at 01:01 PM

Justin posted on Beck site to come check out his new band @ Viper. Was there in a heartbeat, and so was Macy Gray, Beck, and a few others. Same week as Concert for Artists rights. February 2002.

bananaboat - 11-3-2004 at 02:07 PM

Warped Tour 2004

happysmilely - 11-3-2004 at 03:12 PM

I think it was very late 2002, word of mouth. liked the name, heard it a few times, heard it would be good, other bands told me it would.... so after all the ranting I went online, feel in love.

TurtleEnterprises - 11-3-2004 at 03:17 PM

True love:)

For me, Greek Theater in September of 2003. They opened for The White Stripes. Almost didn't go, but I got free ticket. I remember waiting in line and we didn't know who Ima Robot were, and the people I was with and some people in line were joking saying it was probably Jack and Meg with a bass player. Good times.

TurtleEnterprises - 11-3-2004 at 04:53 PM

I went to see the white stripes at the Greek. But unfortunately it was the day the yeah yeah yeahs opened for them. I guess I can't complain now Modern Romance is one of my favorite songs.:)

JunoRedneck - 11-3-2004 at 06:28 PM

I missed The Sounds when I went to Warped. Most the other bands there were really lame. The singer from Army of Freshman hit on Evil and I. It was grossy. He was very, erm, touchy. Good ole Warped Tour

minimandy14 - 11-3-2004 at 06:36 PM

wow . . . . .good times i presume?

JunoRedneck - 11-3-2004 at 06:44 PM

no

minimandy14 - 11-3-2004 at 06:52 PM

oh . . . . . hey at least someone was hitting on you  gotta look on the bright side. . .. .

[Edited on 4-11-2004 by minimandy14]

JunoRedneck - 11-3-2004 at 06:54 PM

I guess so. But I would have rather had it be someone cool :D

minimandy14 - 11-3-2004 at 06:57 PM

me too

EvilMotivator - 11-3-2004 at 07:30 PM

ew. warped tour sucks. i'm never going again. unless, of course, ima robot is gonna be there.

JunoRedneck - 11-3-2004 at 07:32 PM

 You could bite people's legs again. It'll be fun... or not.

minimandy14 - 11-3-2004 at 08:17 PM

hey i had loads of fun at warped tour. . . . . theres lots of people there to make fun of

poobs - 11-3-2004 at 08:23 PM

Warped Tour was lame..I didn't have fun making fun of people cuz it was just TOO easy..

minimandy14 - 11-3-2004 at 08:25 PM

heh. yea I suppose thats why it was so much fun. Plus I was running around like a crazy person. and all of the people i was making fun of (because they were stupid) were making fun of me because i was actually HAVING FUN.

poobs - 11-3-2004 at 08:28 PM

I stayed at the stage that Ima were playing on the whole time..I wasn't really interested in any bands there, so I figured I'd just insure my place at the front.. Turns out it wasn't really necessary, but whatever..I had a good spot..:D

minimandy14 - 11-3-2004 at 08:31 PM

I was in the front for IMA robot and in the front for The Sounds AND in the front for Coheed & Cambria

EvilMotivator - 11-3-2004 at 08:33 PM

ew. coheed and cabria. grossy. what the hell is his voice? when i first heard them, i didn't know if it was a male or female singer.

minimandy14 - 11-3-2004 at 08:34 PM

OMG thats why i love them! they don't sound like everyone else now adays! THEY ARE AWESOME ANd I LOVE THESINGER!

EvilMotivator - 11-3-2004 at 08:39 PM

in my opinion, they sound exactly like all those other shitty pop-punk bands, just with a more annoying singer.

I was right by you :D Didn't know you so much then. But it was good spot. I could have skipped Senses Fail for my money though. And those retarded crowd surfers. I got trampled more than a Who concert victim. Too low a blow? Maybe I should I edit that one...

Seb - 11-3-2004 at 08:43 PM

Downloaded a couple mp3's in late 01 early 02 but the bands name was robotic or something so spent a while searching for the actual band but no luck. Fast foreward a year when i was looking at the Virgin site I saw the name Ima Robot, thought I would check it out and I finally find my mistery band.

minimandy14 - 11-3-2004 at 08:45 PM

heh coolio

NO..Don't edit..:lol: The crowd surfers were pissing me off..

minimandy14 - 11-3-2004 at 08:49 PM

i hate crowd surfers *waves fist* thinking there all cool.

JunoRedneck - 11-3-2004 at 08:52 PM

Seriously. They sucked. And then Evil and I had to have that fro guy's crotch in our face the whole time. Awkward... And then there was that other crazy guy who wanted to try on my sunglasses, but I couldn't understand anything he was saying. He said something about how they matched his hair? I dunno. Warped Tour was lame.

EvilMotivator - 11-3-2004 at 08:52 PM

except the one hour of ima robot goodness.

JunoRedneck - 11-3-2004 at 08:53 PM

well, durhay.

EvilMotivator - 11-3-2004 at 08:54 PM

once i saw that you replied to this, i knew you said exactly that. creepy? i think so.

JunoRedneck - 11-3-2004 at 08:58 PM

We seriously need to stop reading each other's minds. It's getting fucking scary.

JunoRedneck - 11-3-2004 at 09:00 PM

Hey Evil, you should make a thread congratulating me on getting more than 500 posts. I'll act surprised, I swear.
:o <------ impression of me

EvilMotivator - 11-3-2004 at 09:00 PM

yeah it is.

minimandy14 - 11-3-2004 at 11:02 PM

. . . . . . . . . . .you mean, you guys know eachother PERSONALLY?

JunoRedneck - 11-4-2004 at 01:38 PM

Yes  We've known each other since like the 1st grade... kinda. We met around then at this chick's birthday party. Except I only knew her as "crazy red-haired girl". Then we became friends in um... 7th grade? I dunno. All I know is she an annoying biatch who is cramping my style. Haha, I said "cramping my style".

All I have to say is that Juno and I rule at life.

JunoRedneck - 11-4-2004 at 09:48 PM

True dat. Do you remember that one time I said that in the girl's bathroom at school and we started laughing, then this chick started talking to us about how she drank too much Red Bull because she thought we were laughing at her? I do. It was awkward. Maybe you weren't there. And maybe it was Emily. But it was awkward nonetheless.

Which day were you there?? I went on the 22nd... no Ima Robot. :(
But I did meet Karen O.'s parents. That was strange.

minimandy14 - 11-5-2004 at 08:38 PM

. . . . . . . .people are weird. . . . . .just thoguht i would share that veiw with all of those who read this. . . . . .

why are evil people so stupid? all of them just so plain stupid?

JunoRedneck - 11-5-2004 at 09:29 PM

I believe I went on September 13? Something like that.

EvilMotivator - 11-6-2004 at 12:33 AM

Yup, September 13. That was such a sweet show.

poobs - 11-6-2004 at 08:55 AM

I was at that show..I was standing right in front of Alex and..Was it Timmy's mom? Maybe one was Justin's? I don't remember..Anywho, they were in back of me in line..:D Drac and Phob were also there.. You can hear me and Drac talking and being stupid on the recording of that show..:lol::lol:

JunoRedneck - 11-6-2004 at 09:06 AM

It was an awesome show. And I was SO close to not going. Just think if I hadn't. Well, I guess Evil would have just told me about them later... but still. Band members moms, eh? Did you talk to them or just slyly eavesdrop on their convo? And as for the recording I thought those people sounded drunk  I'm not accusing you of anything, but...

poobs - 11-6-2004 at 09:42 AM

I totally talked to them..I was the only person in that section of the line that knew who Ima Robot was..I probably gushed about how awesome they are and how nice they are and blah blah blah..It was cute..The moms were wearing Ima Robot shirts..:D

As far as us being drunk, I can only speak for myself and I was serfectly pober..:duh:

poobs - 11-6-2004 at 11:11 AM

Is it strange that the person that started this thread hasn't come back to post anything else? :wow:

EvilMotivator - 11-6-2004 at 11:36 AM

Yeah, I was wondering that myself.

JunoRedneck - 11-7-2004 at 08:13 AM

I think it was Evil, on a different name. It would make sense... ImaRetard. She's a bit of a re-re.

Jette - 11-7-2004 at 10:54 AM

who would give himself a name like that

EvilMotivator - 11-7-2004 at 01:14 PM

Such kind words, dear Juno.

JunoRedneck - 11-7-2004 at 01:15 PM

screw you :lol::lol:

envelope - 11-7-2004 at 06:22 PM

They were at some record store on a listening station and my dad who likes robots and science and music and blah blah blah... heard a song or two and brought it home. He said, "Hey envelope, you would really love this band." He popped it in the 200 disc player and never saw it again.... well, until recently... I got another album for myself (if I really like the band I will buy the CD for the art etc...).

minimandy14 - 11-7-2004 at 06:29 PM

. . . . . . .i wish i could go to a local show and see IMA robot there. that would be awesome. but you know what, you guys are missing out on the awesome local bands up here! Like The Jezebel Diary and Prozack Staple. . . .you should try to download some of there tunes. . . . . .

JunoRedneck - 11-7-2004 at 07:59 PM

You could print out a picture of them and tape it to a stereo while it's playing their CD, and pretend they are playing a local show  That's what I do. Not really, but I think it will help.

minimandy14 - 11-7-2004 at 10:11 PM

. . . . . hmmm maybe i will do that. . . . .. as my mom walks in the room. . . . she already thinks i am crazy might as well proov it

scorpspunk - 11-13-2004 at 07:37 PM

minimandy14 - 11-13-2004 at 10:59 PM
