...Is not a band.

My dad gave me $60 out of the blue, and I went out with my friend and we went to look at some CDs. I couldn't get myself to buy the CDs that I have been dying to have. It was like I got turned off.
Anyways, I wanted to know, what CDs do you guys have?

Jette - 11-29-2004 at 01:26 PM

er, many? last ones i burnt were gewn stefani for my sister, neil young-neil young and steppenwolf-steppenwolf for my father, but those dont really count..

i made an ima robot demos and bsides compilation the other day (im your bitch is the best song theyve ever made by the way)

and i got gem recently, its a dutch band i went to see last friday. theyve been called the dutch strokes
the support was 'a brand', some belgian band, they turned out to be really really good, but i cannot find any of their stuff online

last cd i actually bought was muse - hullabaloo about 2 years ago, and i got absolution for real too, but that was a present

such a waste to spend money on cds when theyre up for grabs. and now ive been rambling too long so ta-ta

EvilMotivator - 11-29-2004 at 03:05 PM

I suggest Muse and Head Automatica. Oh, and Tenacious D. They'e funny as hell.

bananaboat - 11-29-2004 at 03:36 PM

Hmm...Gem sounds good, where can I check them out?

bananaboat - 11-29-2004 at 04:35 PM

Which Muse album would you say is worth the money?

EvilMotivator - 11-29-2004 at 04:44 PM

All of them. My favorite is probably Origin of Symmetry, but it's also probably the hardest to find. My second favorite is Absolution.

Do you have the Arcade Fire yet?

seacaptain - 11-29-2004 at 10:51 PM

Arcade Fire rules

The last pile of CDs I bought:

Can - remastered version of Monster Movie
U2 - the new one
Tom Waits - Small Change
Handsome Boy Modeling School - White People
Blues Explosion - Damage

TurtleEnterprises - 11-29-2004 at 10:54 PM

The last cd I bought was the Dynomite single.
Last CD given to me was the OC mix 2

this new Nancy Sinatra cd ainīt bad ....very comfy to listen to esp. at this time of year. and you immediately know whoīs been working on which track of the album since itīs so typical, esp. that Jarvis Cocker and Thurston Moore as well as Morrissey track ...and the one with Jon Spencer but thatīs not difficult to distinguish since heīs singing on it. i can also strongly recommend "Exhibit A" by the Features (www.thefeatures.com) and if i had more money iīd get the William Shatner album.

Gem is so awesome. I love their stuff.

MichelleRene - 12-30-2004 at 11:30 AM

Interpol.............definitely Interpol.
I've been going back and forth from 80's stuff like Depeche Mode, Nitzer ebb and The Cure. I love the older stuff. :D

:D keep spreading the word overseas

i dont know the old interpol stuff, but i think the new album is a bit all the same. if you hear one or two songs, theyre amazing, but when you hear the whole album i find it a bit tedious

Yeah, I love the older stuff to Depeche Mode and The Cure, but I wish I can say the same to their newer stuff. Not that I don't like it or that it's bad or anything, but I prefer their older stuff for some reason.
