Music and war

soldierz_1 - 7-19-2005 at 11:53 AM

I just saw this dvd called Gunners Palace. . It's about soldiers living in one of Saddam's old palaces, and the unique thing is that most of the movie is told through music. All types of music are in the gunners palace, so it applied to me because I like war movies and music of multiple genres. It's also politically neutral so it made the film so much more interesting to watch because I was able to concentrate on the footage and the music which blends together seemlessly. I recommanded it to my buddies so from me to you, check it out.

Although this is quite spammish, that DOES sound interesting..

yes yes it does. . . . . Sounds kinda like when you play Dark Side of the Moon, and The Wizard of OZ together. . . . .but not really. .. .

My buddy and I did that..Stupid stoner kids..:( It totally works, though..:D

I know! it is so kickass. . . .at first I just bought the cd just for that, becuase I hadn't really heard alot of pink floyd before, but now, I am totally in love with it. . . . "and if the band your in starts playin' different tunes, I'll see you on the dark side of the moon"

my feet smell.

poobs - 7-19-2005 at 02:14 PM

Yeah..I love Pink Floyd..They have some beautiful songs..

corkey16 - 7-19-2005 at 04:17 PM

Very trippy music. Speaking of Pink Floyd, this is a true story by the way, if you guys listen to Darkside of the Moon and watch The Wizard of Oz together, the sounds gos along with the movie. Very weird, but cool. I think they redid the Wizard of Oz with that album in the background.

No, I mean you have to hit play when the lion at the begining of OZ roars for the third time, then it will all go together. ;)

I like how she had to edit the first one twice, and then posted it again for no reason. Super neat.

poobs - 7-20-2005 at 11:06 AM

So neat that I want to shove these scissors in my eye..

Evil - 7-20-2005 at 11:21 AM
