Coachella - Mojave Tent
Sunday, April 27th
2:35PM

::Song#1
::Dynomite
::A Is For Action
::Dirty Life
::Alive
::12=3(Here Come The Doctors)
::Scream
::Sex Symbols
::Ages Of Ruin
::Here Come The Bombs

The bot got in ten songs and managed to throw in one new one. The new track is actually an old Ima Robot song, Scream. However, the composition has changed; more prominent guitars and keyboards with some softer melodic vocals by Alex. The original was more furious, from my understanding. Once in the studio they thought that the softer more melodic approach was appropriate. I have to agree, it really lets the character and personality of Alex's voice shine on through.

Ima Robot played to about a 3/4 full Mojave tent. The show went off without many problems. This was a relief as The Mojave tent appeared to be plagued with technical issues this weekend. Anyone who was waiting around for Ladytron knows what I'm talking about.

The set list was very appropriate; Song#1 falling into proper order and ending with Here Come the Bombs.

I’m sure we’ll see some new fans at the Troubadour show on June 19th.

Yes I am convinced that the Mojave Tent is built on some ancient indian burial ground. Almost every band I saw that played there was cursed to rampant technical difficulties. Luckily, Ima Robot only experienced a few, the most notable including feedback from the stage right mic and some absenteeism by the techs when JMJ needed to switch out basses. Other than that, another great set including one new song that has the potential to be as addictive as all the rest.

The crowd was really appreciative at the end, I got stopped while handing out fliers by people wanting to know more about the band/where they could find music/history of the band, etc.

Pics forthcoming!

Um, I think I may have talked to you after the show while you were handing out flyers? If you're the chick in the red/white stripes, I'm Matt. Anyway, I'm totally converted. I'll be at The Troubadour, is there an e mail list or anything else I can get on...?

Yes, I play a mean tambourine, but they cut my part out of every song. Steven McDonald and I are pissed!

This just in: Jack White spotted at Ima Robot Coachella set, apparently hanging with his gf from the Von Bondies. Anyone catch his reaction?

Jack White spotted

Yeah I saw Jack White with his girl from Von Bondies. I walked past them backstage but they don't seem like the approachable type, especially when I was kinda faded and capable of saying stupid shit. But during that spotting I was rocking out to Ima Robot. Never heard their songs before and I went nuts during the set. This was my third year at Coachella and everytime I go I end up finding a new band to love. Ima Robot is so much fun to rock out to, such good music. Even though it was a fog, I was able to tell the guitarist I enjoyed the set, and now I gotta go buy a cd of theirs. Do most record stores carry their albums? I am so happy I found out about this band. I will definitely be at the Troubador next month.
