When I first started listening to Ima Robot this song stuck out to me. I dubbed it my favorite. It still is my favorite. And now that Alex and Timmy
have played it acoustic I fell in love with this song all over again. It still is my number one favorite Ima Robot song.

What I hear:

"Here in true grit" Which can be considered a state of mind, or to the movies. Whatever you feel like, I guess.
Interpretation:
I think it could either literally could be a story about avenging a loved one or maybe it's a bit more figurative and maybe somebody broke them up and
now Alex wants to mess up the first guy (killing or breaking him and his girl up, etc)
