Ha, I am positively giddy right now. Just found a source that says The Song #1 single will be released in the UK, and have NOT ONLY Std Dance on it,
but Ages of Ruin, as well.
I know this will put a smile on The Faker and Colforbin's collective faces.
"Ima Robot will release their new single on 20 October. The various formats will include title track Song 1, an in-your-face explosive punk
anthem about breaking the rules. STD Dance sees them sing about freedom within a tight punk-funk-disco wrapping. Sex Symbols On Parade sees them back
in frantic mode singing about girls (and boys) wanting them. Finally we get Ages of Ruin which sees them slow the pace down."
Buying info forthcoming.

Hell yeah, that just made my day. All new tracks are appreciated, especially those not (easily without the help of friends) accessible. Thanks for
looking out.

Anyone Order This?
draconian - 10-6-2003 at 06:00 PM
So Phobiac says he got an email from the vendor, saying that this release was no longer available. I did not get the email. Wondering if it was a
function of timing (I sent in order earlier) or release date/product change? Anyone know?colforbin6 - 10-7-2003 at 10:29 AM
I ordered the day the link was posted. I have not heard anything but it has been a couple of weeks.
-the col.batcave_baby - 10-7-2003 at 10:36 AM
I ordered a week or so ago, and just yesterday got an email saying they don't have any. There was a copy on Ebay that I didn't go for
because I thought my order had been accepted, but looks like I got faced. Anyone know where else to Get It? I Need It.draconian - 10-7-2003 at 11:04 AM
I'm checking all the UK sites, nothing listed at Hard To Find Records, Disc n Tape, the usual suspects. Might be a bit before I get the news on
the this one.colforbin6 - 10-7-2003 at 11:12 AM
got a bad feeling about this one. Its disappearing, quickly.draconian - 10-7-2003 at 05:10 PM
Yikes, just got the grim email, too.car539 - 10-7-2003 at 05:46 PM
i missed the boat as well. let me know if anyone finds them.colforbin6 - 10-7-2003 at 08:34 PM
I'm afraid I got the email as well. Bastards. There is one on e-bay.
This is not a good thing people.Phobiac - 10-8-2003 at 06:48 AM
I was in on the bidding war for that one; $21 was the final price! The potential has been seen. Imagine that and the full cd is just eight bucks.
No, I didn't win.draconian - 10-8-2003 at 06:51 AM
We'll find it somewhere. I saw on the musicohm site that Oct. 20 is still the release date...colforbin6 - 10-8-2003 at 10:14 AM

Single In UK
draconian - 10-15-2003 at 09:39 AM
Cambridge Univeristy Radio reports that the single was released October 6th and arrived at their station the 11th. In the Head of Music's
words, "This is a perfect 2.5 minute pop song as far as I'm concerned - it's too energetic and staccato to be simply pop, too
straightforward to be art-rock but has too many pop sensibilities to be punk - it ends up being a marvellous mixture of all three. Great stuff."seacaptain - 10-15-2003 at 12:01 PM
OK, so I just went and asked JMJ if there was any plan for the b-sides to hit the US in a non-imported fashion... doesn't sound too optimistic:
I will venture to say right
now that there will be no release of that material outside of Europe and
Japan. Those are the only territories that go for that sort of thing; US
and Canada only release that stuff as an afterthought on collections.Phobiac - 10-15-2003 at 01:57 PM
Well...Well...Well...
My source isn't JMJ, but I understand that the U.S. Dynomite Single will have a b-side; Sign Your Life Away.
I know that JMJ knows more than me, but I do know that there is a U.S. DJ Promo of Dynomite with Sign Your Life Away on it. Of course, there is also
another U.S. DJ Promo that does not have the B-Side.
So who knows which one will actually hit the shelves in the U.S.? And for that matter when it will hit the shelves!

Well, we did get "The Beat Goes On" here so it's not like it's impossible that we'll get any b-sides at all.draconian - 10-15-2003 at 04:31 PM
We'll all be making frequent trips to the Import section at the record store, it looks like.
I contacted someone who does buying for imports online, to see if he knew release dates on some of this stuff.
I am intrigued by the "Sign Your Life" B-side, as well as by parenthetical JMJ talk involving remixes of some sort.colforbin6 - 10-15-2003 at 04:56 PM
Someone needs to compile each and every b-side, make a listing so we all know what's out there, and then find a way to make it accessible to all
who crave. If that means purchasing a bunch of imports for an outlandish cost, so be it. But we should have some sort of listing available to guide
our search. It just seems like there are a lot of loose ends out there that need to be heard.
-Regards to all.draconian - 10-15-2003 at 05:06 PM
All we know is:
STD Dance - U.K. Song #1 single
Ages of Ruin - U.K. Song #1 single
Sex Symbols - U.K. Song #1 single
I'm Your Bitch - Japanese full-length CD
Stranger's Theme - Japanese full-length
Sign Your Life Away - French Dynomite single
...and U.S. DJ Dynomite single promo
We have buying info on the French single, the Japanese album, but not the U.K. single or album offering yet.seacaptain - 10-15-2003 at 06:03 PM
Oh wait, was Public Access ever released in the US? I was confused because I got it for 3 bucks in Hollywood. We should probably add that to the list for "Sex Symbols On Parade" and "The Beat Goes On."colforbin6 - 10-15-2003 at 08:56 PM
isn't that helpful? I thought so, let's keep this up to date (not like you all wouldnt).
-thanks for getting back so quick.
