Okay, so this is from November 26th...but the most prescient statement from DjXio at
www.zone-radio.net is the mention of hearing about the band one month previous but getting the CD eventually. Proof that marketing this thing to
death will eventually reap rewards:
"Yes it's that time again..Wednesday is featured band night on my show, and tonight's pick is a band I had heard about a month back but
just picked up the cd today.
Post from DJXio:
"They're called Ima Robot and are hailed as Los Angeles' noise-synth-pop heros. The follow along the lines of such bands as Electric
Six and Hot Hot Heat but hold their own in this latest phase of garage rock/indie bands.
They're weird and dark, sardonic and fun all at the same time. Blending powerful bass, keyboard blips and hard guitar, Ima Robot is like a
garage rock/indie fan's wet dream.
Devo inspired songs such as "Dynomite" fuse a kitcshy pop sensibility while melodic songs such as "what are we made from" ponder
our origins with music that sounds straight out of a 70's sci fi B-movie.
"Here come The bombs" pokes fun at themselves, fast food franchises and marketing and points out how we're doomed to spiral into
oblivion due to our frenzied evil consumer ways... what more could you ask for??!!
Definitely a band worth checking out. I'll be featuring them tonight on my show from 8pm-11pm pst...soooooo tune in!"
