And Here Is The Album Of The Day Stuff

They're today's album of the day on BBC 6. Follow the link in the second post to go to the page. Here's the text:

Ima Robot: Ima Robot
Released: 19 April 2004

Mike Hales, Senior interactive producer

Ladies and gentlemen, I have just perfected time travel, and it all happens through sound waves.

Ima Robot are the conduit but I’ve just been back to the 1980s and I’m happy to report the weather was much better and my hair looked much thicker on top.

Musically, there was strange ‘break’ dancing stuff and the keyboard sounds were a bit tinny but the songwriting was good.

While I was there I caught some sounds through my magic music machine. Sounded a bit like the Dead Kennedys crossed with Split Enz and genetically enhanced with DNA from The Cars - good toons though!

Particularly liked Here Come The Bombs, 12=3, Song # 1 and Dynomite. Strange, they kept claiming they were robots but sure sounded human enough to me – worth putting on your dancette kids!
