The Catheters / Division of Laura Lee
Has anyone seen these bands live? I'm going to a tiny tiny bar in Minneapolis on Saturday where both are playing. Division of Laura Lee is a Swedish
garage band, they've won rave reviews from critics but the songs I've heard by them have been about a star to one and a half stars lower than
Soundtrack of Our Lives, say, in a Star Search comparison.
In other news, rumors have it that the Beastie Boys, The Hives, Z-Trip, and possibly Radiohead will be at this year's Coachella. Poobs, reserve the
hotel now...can still find some in the $80 range for April 26-27th.

Me too! I may have to leave early Sunday as the following week I have a couple of final exams. But my strategy is to work my rear off so that I am
far enough ahead I won't need to get a great grade in those classes to pass.
The Coachella message board is littered with rumors. I would love, of course, to see Ima Robot play one of the tents...and The Hives will be a blast
if they are indeed confirmed. I suppose in the rap/hip-hop vein I'd like to see The Roots, and as far as electronica goes the band The Music is
supposed to approximate the sound with real instruments. That's something I'd like to hear. Also, Smokey and Miho would be rad!
What bands are you hoping for?

Man..Who do I want to see? I'm actually pretty stoked about the Beastie Boys..I just hope that they really do play..Radiohead would be pretty sweet,
too..I heard they were supposed to play one of the last ones, but didn't, so maybe..And, yes, the Hives would be sweet to see in person..That lead
singer is nuts..It's so hard to judge who might be going cuz it's such a crazy line-up each year..IMA Robot would be pretty sweet..You know, just
going is enough for me..I love seeing so many bands in two days, but it's just nice being there..Really cool atmosphere and trailer toilets! What more
could you ask for??:D:D

Division of Laura Lee put on a good show last night, despite their colossal homeliness. This has been documented by the press, and I think they admit
to it, so I have no qualms about mentioning their unattractiveness here. "Got To Get Some" is their current single, and there's one that has a
Hives-like bass line that rocks as well.
The Catheters were cool--I chatted with a Catheter after their performance and asked them if they had ever been compared to Steppenwolf. They have a
60s rock vibe going on that gets past the punky garage style I'm sure their label (Burning Heart?) is pushing them as.
They may be coming through L.A. soon, definitely worth the $10 I paid to see them.
p.s. Burning Brides also played but they sucked.
