The Fiery Furnaces
Ok= so this one came to me from out of the blue...no pun intended, not sure if
they will seriously rasise tremendous eyebrow, but the record "Blueberry Boat"
has been growing on me quite a bit...it's the kind of thing where there's two people
that go blip-blip, jingle jangle, cabaret, ragtime, digital sing-a-long until you realise
just how different this is. It's totally taken me by surprise and possibly opened up
an element of curiousity as to the kind of music I like in some little nook of my tastes.
I really can't compare or contrast this to damn near anything right now...drawing disparate straws is maybe Aisler's Set, Get Hustle
(?)...female-male vocal exchange, all over instrumental trickery...
...ummm, Radiojerk doing Autechre in slo-mo...ok, Sherlocks and Watsons...take it away.

I love both of their albums
They're a little silly but never get too jokey

Saw them a few weeks ago. The best thing to happen was when Matt's keyboard crapped out halfway through and he covered the parts with guitar.
It was as though their album had been played by Led Zep. Had to give him props for the improv, but Matt was pissed regardless.
