vhs or beta

Maybe these guys have been mentioned awhile ago, but I recently swallowed the new
Vhs or Beta album, "night on fire", whole and found at least a couple tracks to be
highly addictive. The song "no cabaret" is totally one for your ipod or wherever
your nutpile nest of songs lay. As well the track "night on fire" is pretty hot. Think Faint, !!!,
or outhud, but a little more superproduced (astralworks)...still a good dance album that
at first listen, dare I say, sounds like the album The Cure should have made this year. Equal parts
bauhaus, cure and at times the singer sounds like simultaneously Ian Mackaye and Robert Smith(?).
Yeah, you figure it out. In that sense, could be the result of what might happen if Fugazi made an
über hip dance record and explored their *ahem* sexuality. Hey, everybody's doin' it. And what
"it" is, it's hard to say (the least).
