The Shins Live
Just got back from seeing them at First Ave. Very nice performance. A satisfying mix of new and old. Four encores, the last being Know Your
Onion...
I was worried that James Mercer's voice would not sound so distinctive live, but it was bright and clear with that melodic whelp unique to him,
really great stuff.
I think I like the old album better than Chutes Too Narrow. Did you know that they've sold over 50,000 copies in two weeks? Ridiculous.

Well the U.S. single for the new album is "So Says I," which you can listen to HERE. St. Simon is also one of my favorites from Chutes.
Their previous album, Oh, Inverted World, is so uniformly excellent, I cannot be made to single out any particular tracks. I would buy the whole
thing, it's a classic.

Thanks to them being in town for the All Tomorrows Party, they had a chance to stop in, and say hi to Nic Harcourt. Thank goodness my friend stumbled
across it here:
