San Fran show!

I know we kinda have one in the Discussion area, but this is where it should be, eh? Well, I'm pooped, but it was a great show..I think they needed to turn Alex's mic up a bit more, but all in all, awesome show..I think Justin really stood out with his rad dance moves.. I would go into more detail, but as I said, I'm pooped!! So what did y'all think??

Oh..And I met ipodgod who is a really awesome chap and two other girls, Amanda and Isobelle (probably spelled wrong), who really made the night extra fun! Front Row Posse in the hizzouse!! :D

Huzzah!!

Ok..After 7 hours of sleep, my neck is sore, my back is sore, and my legs are stiff..I obviously had a great time!! :D

So, the show! The boys were chock-full of energy and Justin even got a guitar ass rubbing! I didn't think the crowd was as enthusiastic as I was planning on, but people were singing along, so that's cool..Justin had said before the show that they were going to try to do a new song, and they pulled it off..Party All The Time was way more rockin' than I remembered! ;) I practically pooed my pants when Alex said they were going to do The Beat Goes On, and it lived up to my expectations..Awesome..They ended with Ages of Ruin, which did actually make me poo my pants..Such a great song, but especially live! The only thing that took away from the show was the 14 year old girls screaming for Alex as though he was the last bottle of clearasil in the world..Oi..I mentioned to Alex that I felt like I was at a Backstreet Boys concert for a second there and he just laughed..

Justin revealed that the El Rey show is going to be a 3-camera shoot, so be sure to look extra special that night!;)

All in all, a fabulous experience!!

Not to take away from the joy of the night, but there were some total a-holes whose place I saved in line for over a freaking hour in will-call who wasn't going to come to bat for us if his buddy wouldn't let us join them in the front of the ticket holder line..I think it's lame that after you got your will call ticket you had to go back into another line, but whatever..I hope those kids and their loser posse rot in Hell.. :saint:

Hey Amanda! Chris's name on here is ipodgod, but he lurkes more than posts!:D He'll get the stuff to you..don't you worry your pretty little head about it!

Oh..And speaking of, I got a pic with Alex..It was a last minute thing and I don't like the way I look in it, but I got it..I felt like such a tourist..

that show was awesome, but i agree the crowd was a letdown. i can barely speak today 'cause i was yelling for an "encore" with all my might since all the assholes around me looked halfway out the door when the band left the stage! and soem drunk chick elbowed her way in front of me to take pics of alex and started picking a fight with the people next to me... that being said, ti's the best concert i;'ve ever been to! ima robot put on ONE HELL of a good show! i also thoroughly enjoyed Head Automatica, although the volumes were all messed up (i couldn't hear any of the scratching Dan the Automator was doing, and there was all sorts of feedback). Maxeen was OK. I enjoyed them, but live I got tired of them about halfway through their set and I'd never buy a cd of theirs, but as far as opening bands go, it could have been worse.

Totally..I couldn't hear the singer of Head Automatica when the guitarist starting going strong also..And yeah, Dan just looked like he was going through the movements, but nothing was playing..The sound could have been better for all groups, I thought..And, yeah, the opening bands could have been worse..

hey again, guys (especially chris and kendra!) so i nicked the setlist, and here it is. song#1, dirty life, a is for action, alive, std dance, dynomite, let's talk turkey, black jettas, scream, philosophee, beat goes on, 12=3, here come the bombs, party all the time, and ages of ruin.

here's some more details of my experience at the show (and this will be long...so good for those who wanted a lot of details). i went with my friend, isabel, and we were right at the stage at the center! we stood by kendra and chris (hence the name, 'team front row';) the first band, maxeen, sucked. they sounded like pop-punk. and the bassist/singer, though cute, kept 'raining' onto me and kendra. i felt bad that no one was into them, so i tried to make it look like i was somewhat interested. i took their setlist though (and gave it to chris after). the second band, head automatica had a lot of energy and were pretty good, musically. i just didn't really like the vocals that much. at one point, the guitarist looked down at me and smiled and gave a little wink ;-) i also took their setlist after.

now, onto the goods...there was a long wait between head automatica and ima robot, but it was WELL worth it! there was less room in the crowd, and there were a bunch of people who worked their way closer to the stage. i don't remember how long we waited for ima robot (maybe half an hour or something?). but when they came on, the crowd went wild! there were a bunch of people singing along, and alex was his usually crazy and energetic self, all the guys were. i gave justin a little thumbs up sign, and he smiled and took a bow. during one point in 'dirty life' alex crouched down and sang right to me :-) they were just so amazing!

after the show....me, isabel, kendra, and chris got some water from the bar. then we saw justin by the stage, so we went over to him. he's really sweet. i got his autograph on my free ima robot poster. ollie was by him, too, so i got his autograph as well. then we saw timmy, and i got his autograph (he remembered me from asking him to sign my water bottle at the white stripes show in berkeley). after that, i got the drummer's autograph (i feel bad 'cause i don't remember his name :-( ) after that...alex came out. at that point, the security guards were telling them to wrap it up, so alex had us go with him outside. i got his autograph, gave him a hug. during the show when he grabbed my hand, he accidentally grabbed two of my bracelets with him. so he gave me one of the bracelets he was wearing. i asked chris to take a picture of me and alex, so he did. i gave him one last hug, gave kendra and chris a hug, and then we left.

i had such a great time! i can't wait to see them live again. i didn't expect them to be so nice :-) oh yeah, we also got free posters and pins and stuff. good times! :-D

Hey it's me Isabel! Hi Kendra and Chris (and I already know you Amanda)!!!!! I finally was able to log onto this board. I had such a fun time. I actually thought the crowd was very enthusiastic but not rowdy. I dunno. Alex is just a beautiful space fairy. :saint:

Oh..Forgot to mention two little tidbits..Justin said he was getting over laringitis (spelled so damn wrong..sorry), so hopefully he didn't talk much on their day off! And Alex totally forgot the first verse of Ages Of Ruin!! He was kinda muttering until the chorus! Ha! He could have passed the mic to me! I love that song! :D
