Is Joey Cloned?
Man, Joey Waronker is one busy drummer. Here's some snippets from some stuff he has worked on recently. How crazy that The Vines were trying to get
Ringo Starr to drum on the album!
LISA GERMANO
Lullaby For Liquid Pig
iMUSIC/May 12
This is the fifth album from Lisa Germano, self-produced with help from REM drummer Joey Waronker and mixer/musician Jamie Candiloro.
A wistful mix of ambient melodies, drifting, waltzing hymns for lost children and eerie tinkling music boxes. Some of the gentlest dance beats ever
heard cradle Germano's soothing tones. This is classical music for the hopeless of heart, muted guitars benevolently leading the way into relaxation
music for the permanently downbeat.

Chariot, Gavin DeGraw's J Records debut out June 17th, 2003, introduces the world to a vital, magnetic young artist whose abundant talent and charisma
are already well known to New York clubgoers.
The 11-song collection is a remarkably accomplished and compelling first effort, offering the same combination of raw emotion and eloquent songcraft
that originally drew hometown fans to the 26-year-old singer/songwriter/pianist/guitarist's live shows.
In the spring of 2002, Gavin signed with Clive Davis' J Records and began work on Chariot with producer Mark Endert, whose extensive resume includes
work with the likes of Fiona Apple, Tonic and Ours. Recorded far from DeGraw's East Village stomping grounds at Los Angeles' legendary Sunset Sound
studio, the album finds Gavin fronting a solid, inventive band consisting of guitarist Michael Ward (Wallflowers, John Hiatt), drummer Joey Waronker
(Beck, R.E.M.) and longtime DeGraw cohort Alvin Moody on bass.

Re:The Vines
VINES JUST MAY GET TANGLED UP IN GREATNESS
Alan Sculley Special To The Post-Dispatch
The biggest problem came when some of Olliffe's drum tracks failed to pass muster with Schnapf. Eventually, Olliffe left the band, and after a brief
attempt to recruit ex-Beatle Ringo Starr to play on some tracks, the CD was finished with a pair of seasoned veterans: Pete Thomas of Elvis Costello's
Attractions and Joey Waronker, who's been playing with R.E.M.

MC Honky is said to be a Silver Lake native in his 50s who used his massive vinyl collection to make a freaky debut album, "I Am the Messiah," out
Tuesday, produced by E from the Eels and featuring R.E.M. drummer Joey Waronker and other notables of the hip-oisie. Who the heck is
he?

John Doe `Dim Stars Bright Lights' (Artist Direct)
Having blazed during the early LA punk scene with his band X, John Doe has now settled down as a more relaxed Americana-flavoured songwriter. With a
crack band, including Smokey Hormel and Joey Waronker, plus guest singers, including Juliana Hatfield and Jane Wiedlin, it's a
gorgeous, easy-going record of fine, contemplative songs. HHH
