Lost In Translation
I thought this one was pretty excellent. It does seem like a smaller movie than S'Cop is capable of, but for what it is, it's awfully good
for being a film without a lot of words (which I usually prefer, sorry, I am probably the one person who is breathlessly awaiting the Before Sunrise
sequel).
Phobiac, I am counting on you to translate the section where the commercial director is haranguing Bill Murray's character in Japanese. I only
caught "anatano" and that's, like, one word.

They make terrific use of "The Teaches Of Dirty Ho," listen for it (as if you could miss it).

Actually two words...well a word and a particle.
Anata ( you ) no ( at, for, in, of, on, from...but in this case it shows possesion )
Means your or yours or e.g. draconian's
Anata no inu desu.
Your dog.
Anata no inu desu ka?
Is this your dog?
draconian-san no inu desu.
draconian's dog.
Fun....hah? Kept it simple...cuz that's all I can do. Simple.

Suckin' on my titties like you wanna be...
Yah, I thought it had one of the best first acts I've seen in quite some time. Tho the first shot of the film sexualizes the female protagonist
in a way that made me anxious throughout the movie: please don't kiss Bill Murray, please don't kiss Bill Murray, please don't be that
kind of movie... which it thankfully wasn't. For the most part.

There was an elderly couple rooted to their spot in the aisle during that opening shot, they wouldn't move because they couldn't see their
way in the dark, it almost totally blocked the shot for the people in my area of the theater and there was a lot of grumbling about not being able to
get a good look at her ass.
I was also rooting against a liplock with Murray. But, as you say, we were pretty much spared the horror.

Made it to LIT this weekend. I was pretty impressed with how they were able to capture some many of the crazy cultural difference you experience when
there.
The Japanese are so polite and helpful it so shocking to us Americans; funny when you think we come from a service based economy and you can't
find good service anymore. Being greeted like ten times is not uncommon while you walk to the front desk. The shower situation hits home. But, that
view of Tokyo from your hotel room is always shocking!
All that aside, the real plot/story….whatever/…was very cool. I feel so sorry for them. I felt so sorry for them.
Should I have left happy?
