The Vines

I went to see The Vines last nite; wow, they were good. A lot more energy than last time i saw them; perhaps too much energy. I was fairly close to the front and when they came on & played something like 'Get Free' everyone went mad (fair enough) but the crush was immense - i had to get out :¬( Unfortunately, I lost my mates so had to hang back on my bill for most of the show, but it was still great. They played a couple of new songs, im sure one of them was ‘Rainbows’, but I thought that was an old demo song? Anyway, im off for cake, 300+ members!

The good thing about the Vines is they're still doing $15 shows. The bad news is they're not in the studio. They really need to get in there and crank out a couple new albums like they've been threatening to do, some of those demos are amazing.

I wonder if there's any truth to the rumor that Phil Spector is producing their next record?

Hey Stewoo, did Hamish get the drum set thrown at him again?

and Corvette...that Beck show was definitely worth the jack it cost for a ticket!

c/bummer - i'd love to see Beck - your SO lucky!! I can't believe i've only seen him live once, and that was at a festival ::weeps::

I think its fairly definite that Phil Spector is going to produce their next album - who else has he worked with?

I dont think Craig crashed the drums at the end, but i could be wrong - i was quite drunk and a tad high & i fkd off to the bar to get a pint & to catch my mates on the way out, but I'll find out ;¬)

Those demos are pretty sweet. I don't know if I'd actually give the Vines my money though.

The Vines

I saw the Vines about 2 months ago at The Roxy... and they were pretty terrible. Don't get me wrong I LOVE The Vines. I wanted this show to be life changing, but it was sloppy, off-key, and disappointing. (The Music opening up didn't help either.) Anyway I just wrote this to say that I agree that The Vines MUST get back in the studio because they are getting exhausted on the road.

Drac and Phobiac have a nice story about The Vines, but I'll let them do the honors of telling it..:D

Not that great of a story, but every time we've hung out with them after a show, I've gotten onto a plane with less than an hour of sleep and a bad hangover.

I remember the manager's wife and I trying to persuade the guys not to gamble in Vegas, talk about ineffectual.
