Heard Dynamite on LA Quasi-Indie station...

Yeah, I heard them Friday night on my way home on 103.1, but something just isn't right when you hear a Del Taco commercial right afterwards.

Anyway, I see that station crashing, and burning just like Y-107, and other predecessors. It' s a nice thought n all, but has a weird feel to it. It's redundant: Commercial Indie?

I member Y-107, they had billboards everywhere and vans full of stickers and other promotional stuff passing it out up the ying yang. But I guess stickers weren't enough to keep the station going strong, it crashed before it even got BIG :D

FYI

FYI, they did a story on this on pitchfork.com, a great indie music site. That station is owned by clear channel and it is the first station that clear channel is experimenting with having more of an indie liine-up. The indie fan base has been increasing more and more over the past decade, almost to the point where it's not indie anymore. So i DON'T think it's redundant...because indie isn't indie anymore when more people like it...i just believe that indie is becoming more popular, so by defnition of pop music....indie is becoming the new pop. Just thank god that clear channel is actually embracing this for once and not trying to kill it to keep their bubble-gum pop on the top of the charts...anyway, if you want to hear a great indie station over the internet..check out www.kexp.org, maybe the best no commercials indie station in the country....woohooo...
