Sneaker Pimps
If you folks aren't already familiar with Sneaker Pimps, check them out! They are absolutely amazing! They have three albums out so far with
the fourth nearly finished again*. Becoming X, the Pimps' first album, is the musical equivalent of someone shitting in your ears, thanks to the
disgustingly pretty voice of Kelli Dayton. The music on Becoming X isn't too bad, but Kelli's vocals don't fit the music at all,
making it unbearable to listen to. Fortunately, Kelli left the band after the first album, leaving Chris Corner to take over on vocals. The
Pimps' second album, Splinter, is a masterpiece. It's very different than Becoming X. I suck at labeling music, but I always classify
Splinter as mellow, atmospheric rock. Bloodsport, my favorite album by any artist, while different than Splinter, is also brilliant. It's more
upbeat and more inviting for those who like to dance. I don't really know how to describe other than to say it's incredible. I recommend
you give each album a listen as they're all really different and while you may not like one, you might love the others. I can't stand
Becoming X, but I'm in love with both Splinter and Bloodsport.
EDIT: You can now listen to a few live tracks here.
*The Pimps fourth album was finished back in May of 2003, but has since been altered. Chris Corner, lead singer of the Pimps, is soon to release the
debut album (and DVD!!) for his solo project, I AM X, possibly in March. Several of the tracks that were originally on the Sneaker Pimps' fourth
album have since moved to the I AM X album, and so the band had to go back and record some new material to fill the gaps, hence it being nearly finish
again.

Sorry schwowsers no love for the pimps from me.. I saw them with the original female singer a couple of times and i saw them with the male singer as
the servant supported them a couple of times and they never did nothing for me.. When they played at the ICA a few years ago Madonna and Natale
Imbruliga were there.. and a right spoilt pair of cows they were too.stopping people entering the main room cos they wanted to get up for a piss or
something..

Didn't they do "Spin, Spin Sugar"? I like that song.....kinda sexxy and moody....other than that I don't know....
Yah know what song I love, it's from years ago, and it's really the only song I like by them and it's a remake:
"Do you think I'm Sexxy"---The Revolting Cocks---redo of Rod Stewarts version.
What an awesome cover....love it, love it! It makes me feel all funny inside!:wow:

If you guys really do give their newer stuff a listen, I think you'll be very surprised. They're not the same band they were when they
recorded Becoming X and other songs from that era, such as Long Hard Road Out of Hell. I hate Becoming X, but their other two albums are unbelievably
wonderful.

You should be able to pick up both Becoming X and Bloodsport in the US. If you can't find a store with either of them in stock, you can always
have the store order it for you. That way you don't have to worry about being scammed on the net. Anyhoo, definitely check out Bloodsport as
it's incredible.
