How do you guys feel about....
The Bots getting really big? When I first came to this forum there were a couple of review articles here and there. But now it seems everyday their
appearing on some radio show, tv shows, getting bigger and bigger everyday. I'm really happy for the guys, and proud to be a fan and part of this
community. But at the same time I know as the band grows so will the venues. I love the intimate shows now.

Yeah, Iknow what you mean.
It kinda sucks when you enjoy a band, they get big, then you never see them again...up close that is. People hog the front rows, get pushy, you have
to stand in the back, and they don't come out to sign autographs and take photos anymore... As far as them getting big...I hope they will, but
they still have that sharp edge that may keep them out of the Good Charlotte (type of) league (Thank God).....I love being able to get up front, sing,
dance and have a good time...

Sorry to say...but I can see them becoming the next Good Charlotte... I don't know why. It's just a feeling.
And it sucks.

yeah...when KH got signed i cried....
it was just like seeing your kid head off for college..
i think for me it's always mixed feelings.
what kind of community following does IR have, say in California? or is there no distinct fanbase location?

Dude, it is all about L.A., they have a huge fanbase there indeed. I've seen a lot of the same people at shows since relatively early on.
We'll know they're big when Oligee starts dating Winona Ryder.

HA that was mat devine's new year's resolution - according to an interview - to not have sex with winona ryder.
anyways, I think the transition to the big time has a lot to do with what kind of fanbase they have, and how welcoming they are to new people. it can
make a huge difference...

I dont know if anyone here has accounts at myspace and friendster, but if you take the time to read peoples favorite music Ima Robot pops up
everywhere. It would be neat to see them become bigger.
I agree with you 100% turtle

I want them to get big! So we can say 'I was There!!!' Same with Mars Volta. I had the all the bootlegs before Tremulant EP came out!!! now,
I want them to headline festivals!
same applies to Ima, seen them small, imported the CD and got the EP (and the Bootlegs!), so now, lets get 'em massive, and let everyone fall in
love with the band we love!!!!

if you were a devouted fan, you would want them to get big. they need to get big hello....they have bills and girls to pay. and bigger venues=more
intense shows.
i remember i went to a at the-drive ,when i was like 12, in concert when they were touring with rage against the machine. they tore the fucking stage
up the worst way ever. it was prbably the best live show i have ever seen.
also i agree with lomax. when IMAROBOT gets big you cna be like "i was listening to them before you. so calm down." werd to that.

Very true. I think this is the very first time I've ever witnessed the cultivation of a band from seed to bud (guess y'all know what
I'm thinking about :D ).

Yo, I just have to say that I hope that I could get to see them when they still meet the fans and hang out with the people. I just to get a pic with
them and have a convo with them. It would be cool, BUT, I agree with you guys when I say that I want them to get big and pay the girls...wait, I mean
the bills.
Just to see them evolve into something that big, has been great, I just hope we dont get those lame ass teeny boppers that like Ima because they just
think one of the members of the band is cute *that would fucking suck*
I know they will become very soon, but i just want to see them and congratulate them on their awesome KICK ASS show!!!
Peace peeps

While I totally like them getting money in their pockets and shit, I am worried about one thing. At least in Denver, they have always been cool only
among the hipster/college radio crowd. Lately, though, the album has fallen into the wrong hands. It has been getting popular among the Good
Charlotte, Taking Back Sunday, lame whiny skateboarder crowd. Unfortunately, these people are the people who make bands popular, and I don't want
Ima Robot getting a bad rap. If they get a reputation as one of those bands, I will be angry. But I do want them to pay the girls.

Yes, this is certainly happening. However I like to think that Ima Robot will only be a good influence on this audience and somehow spur them on to
supplement their current music collection with some Joy Division, Gang of Four, and the like.

I had a dream last night that was totally related to this topic. It's a toss up between Scream, Let's Talk Turkey, and Philosophophee as to
which is my favorite. At any given time of the day these songs run through my head, so I can understand the manifestation of this dream. Somehow,
someway I was watching some sappy Verizon commercial in my dream where this old lady was talking about being able to communicate with her family, and
all of a sudden the music to Philosophophee started playing, and it just seemed normal at first until I realized hey that's IMA ROBOT, then as I
realized that, I was in a supermarket looking up at a monitor watching the commercial, then I look down, and there's Alex with a shopping cart
watching the same thing, then we looked at each other, nodded in agreement as if to say, "Wow! Success!", and continued watching the
commercial holding shopping carts.
Now I'm pretty good at interpreting dreams of my own, and I'm sure part of that was influenced from running into Alex at the store once, the
Bot CD in the car-changer, and the major bong rip before bed. But the verizon
reference is baffling. I do need a new cellphone though. :D

Nice..Justin was in my dream a little while ago..We were just chatting and then
I had to go to juvie hall for some reason..Interpret that, Neuwave!!:o
As far as them getting big, I will miss the intimate shows and being able to chat with the boys from time to time, but I also want people to
appreciate how awesome they are! Whatever makes the boys happy makes me happy..:D
