David Bowie

Well, as some of you may know, he is currently on tour and I LOVE BOWIE!!! He is amazing in everything he does. He is coming to Miami on May 6, and I am sure there is not going to be any canceling of the show so I am thinking of going, the cheapest ticket will be like $45, but he is a legend and still the sexiest man I have ever seen!!! I was wondering if anyone else has gone or is going to see him live, or do you cats not like him? Whichever, POST IT
Peace

I have to have a buzz to really enjoy Bowie. I like some of his older stuff. I kinda lost respect for him in the 80's with"China Girl" and "Let's Dance". I don't know, it was just too corny. But, the older stuff was so incredible! So spacey, freaky and weird! Gotta Love it!:D

I grew up listening to bowie with my dad. He's the man. I saw him at the Area 2 show a couple of years ago at Shoreline. If it wasn't for phish vegas, I would go see him in SF for sure. This tour is supposed to be excellent with a rotating set list and a bunch of songs from long ago.

I think that I will see him, but I just hope its worth it cause I havent heard his new stuff and the old stuff is great...The Ziggy Stardust days. Have you guys seen Velvet Goldmine? It is suppose to parallel the whole relationship between David Bowie and Iggy Pop back in those days, but the movie has a more love relationship with them. The two actors are Ewan Mcgregor (iggy pop) and Jonathan Rhys Meyers (David Bowie). JRM was in Bend it Like Beckham he was the coach. Anyhow you guys should check out that movie Velvet Goldmine...it was produced by Michael Stipe I think...or he arranged the music...cant remember which one..
I think that I will see David Bowie....i am excited already
Peace Cats

Well I saw David Bowie a while ago when he was on tour with Nine Inch Nails. I have to say that I didn't really grasp the whole who David Bowie was thing at the time, and now I am kicking myself. I do remember that the show was quite dynamic-- enough to keep more little clueless goths (me included) than you would expect engaged... I have really been blown away just in the last couple of years by the whole era that David Bowie came out of. I would really love to see him again.

I did hear an interview on KCRW ( http://www.kcrwmusic.com/find/ -- type in David Bowie) the other day with Bowie and he mentioned that he is mostly only playing songs from his past two albums if that matters. The songs they played during the interview were good... Worse case you should just go alone if you really want to see him! I've gone to several shows alone and had a damn good time by myself, and its not so bad when you are going to a gig at a big concert venue, other than paying for parking all by yourself!

Yeah,Bowie is ight, I got one of his album "Earthling" ('97). He breaks away from his normal style and hits the electronica.

As a matter of fact, I have personal connections with one of the marketing managers of the record company Bowie is under. :cool2: I don't know what he could do for me though...

And I liked Bowie in "The Labryth", he was like wicked cool.

He's a bit of trivia on Bowie.
What was David Bowie's original name?

Peace!
