I kinda get that vibe as well. However He did make that post on Myspace saying how stoked he was for the new album to be finished. And that interview he did for LATV saying a new album was coming in the fall ...(where is it, Alex!?)

I dunno, I don't see anything bad happening (crosses fingers), but I hope they get new material out there, as well.

Tim makes Ima Robot just as much as Alex does. Without TIm's music backing up Alex's vocals I don't think I would be typing this message, let alone even know about this website. I don't know much about the song writing process that the bots' use but you can't disregard the rest of the band either, they are all great.

its possible to replace a guitarist. but you can't find another person with a voice like alex's. its so unique.. and, amazing. anyone can play guitar.

Yes you can replace a guitarist, but Tim has the unique sound and ideas that blend so perfectly with Alex's vocals. It’s under my impression that Tim doesn't have anything to do with Edward Sharpe. What sets Ima Robot and Edward Sharpe apart in my mind is the music, not the vocals, Ima being much better on the music front. It's all opinion though. I just hope no matter what happens those two stick together in their musical endeavors.

i don't think this (re-making) Edward Sharpe songs has anything to do with "slacking". i remember when MMTM came out and they mentioned both Cool Cool Universe AND Happy Annie being original written by Alex, and Alex wrote the bass for Dynomite. He said he dabbles with instrumentation but then hands over his rough ideas to people who have a little more know-how. Rain Down sounds nothing like Take This Shower aside from the chorus, which makes me wonder what they're doing with Floats Away. That's a PERFECT song already and i was sure it was going to be on Ed's album. As for Alex being Ima Robot, i disagree. Yes he's got an amazing voice and a unique artistic outlook, but i see the Bot's music as being SO much more edgy than Edward Sharpes alone.

eh, i love edward sharpe almost as much as ima robot. i think no matter what his music will be amazing, but its the most amazing when he's with ima robot.

But Ima Robot is not Ima Robot with out the members.

It wouldn't be Ima Robot with out Alex and a different singer, but same for the rest of the crew.

Alex Ebert is an amazing singer and a idol of mine. But Ima Robot is Ima Robot.

Again I disagree with this. Because Each Member of Ima Robot plays their part and if you didn't have another member it wouldn't be Ima Robot. (Well In My Mind.)
