Henry Fonda Show

Tickets are now available for 10 bones (plus a $1.50 service fee) at:
http://www.ticketweb.com/user/?region=socal&query=schedu...

The other opening act listed is Self. All three bands are immensely popular in the L.A. area, so PLEASE BUY YOUR TICKETS IN ADVANCE AS IT IS HIGHLY LIKELY THAT THIS ONE WILL SELL OUT!

edit: As of December 24, Ticketweb is listing this event as their third-highest seller in the area--I beg of you, get your tickets in advance.

Yeah...we saw them at The Derby once, didn't we?

Chhom Nimol ... the Cambodian?

Rock to Cambodia! They should actually do that cover, but change it to Rock To Cambodia.

Word from my pal (married to the drummer) is that signs are positive that Dengue will indeed be playing the date. Maybe Nimol found a flight...

You have got to be kidding me! Yes, she and I went to Film School together and she's one of the few from my class that I stay in contact with. We have a little rivalry going: whichever of us dies having acquired the most in cash and prizes from appearing on game shows, wins. Her Millionaire appearance put me about 20 grand behind, sadly.

Say hello to her for me--we're planning on meeting up at the show, if Dengue plays.

ah, i guess i'll see you there regardless of whether they play or not ;)

ah, film school...i'll ask her tonight...do you know janet g. too? if you've gone to a dengue fever show then you've probably seen me there, i'm almost always with alexis...did you go to the wedding?

you can check out dengue fever at www.denguefevermusic.com

their singer is cambodian and has an amazing voice and she's so adorable on stage

the rest of the guys hail from the la area/silverlake

senon is also in the radar bros.
zac used to play up in san fran with dieselhed
david ralicke used to play in beck with joey and justin

i guess to describe their music is hard, a lot of people are familiar with the cambodia rocks cd. they do a lot of old 60s cambodian covers but write some pretty amazing originals.

they're on matt dillon's city of ghosts soundtrack doing a cover of joni mitchell's both sides now in khmer.

Janet G. is my homegirl. We used to work together at E! Bizarroworld.

Dave Ralicke--I'm trying to recall if he is in Brazzaville or not. Saw them play Temple Bar last year, very entertaining.

haha...yeah ralicke is in brazzaville but dave brown moved to espana so they are playing less frequently, unless you count russia.

so dengue fever is not playing this show. i found out before i left town on fri night. nimol can't switch her flight and with the east coast time change she'd either have to get a red eye out after the show or the earliest possible flight the next morning which just wasn't going to happen....pobre sito! another time, another day...

Now I'm going to have to try to schedule in a Dengue Fever show at some other time. Haven't seen them since summer of 2002. Ah, well. I extended the invite to big Al and Janet G. anyway.

Well, here's hoping they swing towards the midwest this year. Don't know if they've ever toured outside of the west coast, but they'd likely do really well in cities like Chicago and especially Minneapolis, where anything resembling world music is held in high favor.

Thanks for getting us the updates!
