don't have any pictures BUT, that had to be one of THE most amazing shows i've ever seen. i have been addicted to their cd since about mm.. november/december.. like it never left my car.. etc. so when i found out they'd be playing even remotely close to me i was SO excited. i new that their live shows were intense but holy meatballs! such an inadequate word - intense. they played the usual setlist with the only bside being std dance. i had the best spot in the house, the stage came up to my waist, i was in front of the center monitor. front and center.. AMAZING show i tell you, from the opening of song #1 to the end of here come the bombs. and as if to add a cherry to the top of my towering sundae of fun, alex seemed to have a crush on me! OOOH the ecstasy! during dirty life, the lines "i'm coming for you....etc...i wanna FUCK FUCK FUCK.." i get a face full of gyrations. yum. and on black jettas " can't pay attention to my new girl" he pointed and sang to me as if i was his new girl. all the other girls were jealous! i think what happened was, a lot of the other girls that were even into it (which wasn't a whole lot maybe 4 or 5), all wanted to touch him, but he wanted me to touch him, and i wouldn't touch him. i dont know if anyone gets the jist (or gist) of that but me.
i'm now absolutely in love with this band (alex in particular).. even more so than before. the show was from my point of view having alex literally in your face the whole set - it was undefinable. intrusive, but in such an incredibly good way. in a nutshell, the show was like really good sex.
i just found out too that i'm in the pictures of the lawrence show on the official website! (i'm in red) i feel like the arch bishop of flavor careening down the whirly slide of fun!
sorry if this was extremely long and boring, but i dont really have many people to talk about this with, no one i know even knows who ima robot are.. except my brother but he's sick to death of it.
i am officially in love with alex ebert.

oh oh, one more thing, as i arrived, i was walking to the club from where i parked in a borders parking lot, it was quite early yet, and walked right past tim! didnt have the balls to say anything to him, he seemed like he was in his own world, and i didnt want to bother him. but i did follow him back to borders. watched him buy something from the cafe and then i left. AND during the sounds, she was kind of drunk and fell right off the front of the stage. it was great, she kept singing when she was down and got up and laughed it off.
i am quivering with anticipation for the next ima robot show. oh my let it be soon as i am now an addict.

Ha! Glad you had fun! I have 3 shows within the next week! And you should have stopped Tim for a moment..I think the guys truly love hearing from their fans..

Wow, it's so rare I see anyone on a message board (especially from a band not from Kansas) that goes to a Kansas show... Where are you from? I hail from just south of Topeka...

I can honestly say, they were the best "opening" band I have ever seen live... Just so... alive and insane!

That's great you had an awesome time at the show! They are truly wonderful live and a lot of fun!

ohh i can add to that from the st. louis show!! during "scream" when alex says "you were the first girl" etcetc he comes over, puts his hand on my shoulder and sings to me. i wilted!

and my friends and i are on the st. louis pictures as well. sounds like you had a fabulous time!

Thanks for posting the review / story. Always interesting to enjoy everyone's ectasy and exposure of the Ima Robot sound. Especially with the detail!

There are some live versions available in the Download section of this site..As far as a recorded version, you would have to buy the Alive single or the Song #1 single..

...maybe kazaa will do, although i bought the CD

i'm from the missouri side of things, south of kansas city, about 5 minutes south of lee's summit to be exact. i drove about an hour to the bottleneck. it was perfect.
i really felt weird about talking to tim, he was giving off this "i'm trying to be normal at the moment.." vibe. but i SHOULD have talked to him and justin and oli after the show. but alas, my nerves got the better of me. next time, next time....

i had THE BEST time. and i would ilke to say thanks for the warm responses! this has got to be one of the more cooler message boards/forums out there.

Now I'm sad. When the Bot played in Baltimore I didn't get a kiss....Alex practically ran the other way I think I scared him because I was running around taking candid photos of everyone.

Ha! Well I'm glad..I crack myself up sometimes, too..Like the time I was talking to my mom on the phone and cleaning the walls along the stairs and I took a step back cuz I thought I was on the first step and I fell down 4 steps..

nice real nice. I remeber meaning to skip a step at school a long time ago and I ended up missing 3! I felt like a Fantastic-ASS!!! and then realizing I sprained my ankle.

I ususally fall down because I'm only 5'2" and I like to wear platforms to make me look (normal height ) taller, and if I go out to a club, have a beer, I usually fall on my whoopsey daisey.... especially if I try to dance....I'm as graceful as a ballerina

This one time I had been sitting at my desk at work all morning, so I got up to stretch and my left foot just gave out on me..In the middle of the office..I just started laughing and people were asking if I was ok and I just laughed it off..Then I went to the bathroom and cried my eyes out..The ankle had already started to swell and it hurt so bad..I sprained my ankle, too Robotic! :duh:
