...another group I visit on occasion that every once in awhile strikes my moods, who gets the typical press now and again (like in Spin for instance) of influencing ______ female group of the moment
is the Slits.
A female trio of the late 70's, from the UK, often referred to as the female equiv of the Clash, they tore it up in a punk façion that few femme or male groups have since been able to really capture.
The record that really shines is 'CUT' and
it is amazing... if you ever enjoyed anything remotely coming to mind...Sleater-Kinney, Bikini Kill, Clash, Slant 6, punk dub, fugazi...this is a must own...it evokes such a strange, but comforting feeling.

It happened to appear this morning and maybe will appear to you in the near future...well worth the special order if neccessary to do so.

Hooray for The Slits... saw them a couple of times when i was a young erm boy and recently Ari Up has been playing with a new band still doing slits songs... I've got some great pictures from her last show but still don't bloody know how to upload a photo..
bring back the browse thing we had at the bottom of the page.. ha ha

Is that them on the cover? I've never understood why women groups would want to show themselves naked..To me, it's demeaning and I lose respect for them..Just my $0.02

stills are ok but I'm never much fro wemon groups. They seem to be alrighty. I havn't looked into them extensively. That cover is kinda ugly, them or not

Well, in all fairness, it's from the late 70's..But, yeah..I don't normally like women bands either..Especially when they do shit like that on the cover..It's a man's world..Do we have to make it so damn easy for them??

Damnit they should have had the girls on front dressed up super cool....with three or more guys tied up, bound, gagged, whatever...and being in control! Now tht would suffice! That's what would have been on my Lucy Fur album cover...

listen to you... this classic novelette is TOTALLY being judged by its cover and yr ol' by Dyler totally gave it thumbs up...I betcha 'the boys' know and love this record and if the Slits were around in that form now...they would play together...that would be tour of the year.

Just cuz Dyler gives it a thumbs up doesn't mean we're going to like it! He's at a Dirty Ho show right now, for goodness sake!!

ha ha... I'm back and yeah she was a dirty ho... It was a good night but so embarrassing as i went with quite a few mates and she dragged me up on stage as usuall but this time when she got her two mean sidekicks to tie me up the cow never undid me and left me on stage all night and subjected me to humiliating... erm

yeah and plus it's not that I don't like them. I like them, just tend to not love them.....
it's not that I go "i hate girls" and don't look into the band.
I just tend to find boys more my fit.
