...and lest we forget the new PJ record that hit the streets recently ...is another...a little more strippped down than my favorites ..."to bring you my love" and "Dry" which were both really rocking, but had their moments of low key drama that really get you...
this new one 'Uh Huh Her' is a creeper... will take about 10 cycles before all the nuances hit ... the jacket photos are very worthwhile and candid...like a little history picturebook souvenir... man I like her open reflections and honest heart wrenching exhaust...
if you've never heard...this one won't be the one to grab you by the hips... but is another slice of her ...

Yeah...I'm with you Poobs...I love Bjork and Gwen Stefani cause they're so incredibly hot and sing so sexy! But as far as the other ones listed, I'm not a big fan. The whole girl band thing is a little bit of a turn-off as well.......

PJ Harvey kicks ass, I'm a big fan. She's so cool!

The new one is growing on me, it is rawer than her last couple of discs. But nowhere near as raw as her earliest stuff.

you know who really suckerpunched me...was, Republica... they actually turned out to be a really good band... that single 'ready to go' kinda rocked it...don't really know who they are, but yeah... got this clear cd single of a few versions of that song and it's killer...
I have been searching the shelves hi and lo for PJ's 'DRY'...and I'm just beside myself... that stuff rocks... cool Albini rock production ...I am just jonesing for some '50 ft. queenie'...:yawn:

its funny, you hear a great riff/ intro and then the womans vocals kicks in, and it brings it all down a bit. PJ is a bit different, but i think her best days have gone now. I saw concrete blonde the new years before last at the knitting factory in LA, actually sold tickets for the show, and I really liked them... she was really good and the guitar player is nowhere near being shabby...

and man that promo photo is excellent..., maybe delivered differently, but similarly, as far as deep and haunting I tell you some of these Polly records are that...she has her moods, but I don't think her 'best days' are behind...and she's really just one of the guys, but I imagine smells nice, has tits and a few more expressive nervous breakdowns...on tape...

yeah...Courtney is just so repulsive to me...When I saw her in the Sid & Nancy movie (one of Nancy's friends) she looks hideous and has such a trash mouth....she's not feminine by any means...all the surgery to look "human"...her poor daughter (gee, she's not going to have drug and mental problems in the future)...drug problems (oh her life is so awful, let's all feel sorry for her)...and she has a horrible voice that I'm sure is dubbed over and over and over with effects......I like to think of this little saying on occassions...and for Courtney.....it fits:

I hate chick bands. The only good chick bands I know of are Cibo Matto, Rasputina, and Sleater Kinney.


Actually, I don't even normally like chicks, most girls bug the hell out of me. I am strictly-for-the-gentleman-lady.

i love courtney, i'm afraid! i think that so many people judge her and hate her. there's to much bad press surrounding her. i have the sid and nancy film, to be fair to courtney it was made in 1986, which was a while ago. she would have made a great nancy tho.
i can't help but love her, she's just really awesome. :D
