Franz Ferdinand

I don't know if we have a thread on them, because I can't find it. But anyways, my little bro bought their CD. Yea, ooo, but he's those types of kids that listens to Rap, RnB and Hip Hop and he barely buys CDs. He only bought 3 Rap CDs in the last three years. And out of the blue he buys a Franz Ferdinand. That made me so happy, because he doesn't have to steal my CDs those odd times he get's sick of Rap.
Anyways, I think they're great, I love that song, "Darts of Pleasure." I hear some people don't like them because they sound like Modest Mouse. They are nothing like Modest Mouse, maybe just a SMALL bit of "Take Me Out" sounds like them but it's just that one song.
So what do you guys think of them?

I was really impressed by their live show. Partly because they were so charismatic, but also because the audience was perhaps the most rhythmically gifted I had ever been a part of--everyone was able to clap this complicated syncopated beat in perfect time. Good dancers, too.

I've only heard Take Me Out, but I like it. I'd like to hear their whole cd.

I don't think they sound anything like Modest Mouse.
Michael is my favorite song on that cd.
I would love to see them live.
I love ModestMouse as well.

I really like this band
good cd, grew on me fast.
Michael is so my favorite
but I play it a bit much
one of my favorite new cd's
funny boys!
kinda remind me of Queen for some reason, not the music, just them.

Not really, Modest Mouse is very much Indie, wheras Franz is more dance/funk. I love them both though.

No see, what I mean is more of a time frame.
Related together despite different musical sounds.
They relate in a way where they coincide, even if they are very different

i like the intro of "tell her tonite" so egyptian-sounding. and "take me out" is like a "bohemian rhapsody" - 3 songs in one.

don't get all sassy with me. I know that. I listened to them back then.
MM and FF coincide in a teeny boppers mind.
MM popularity is only recent hit in the same popularity boat stream as FF.
Ok, I'm done. This is moving along like the energizer bunny.

a positive aspect on Franz Ferdinand is that the aren´t called "the" Franz Ferdinand and a negative thing is that they´re all wearing suits ....i´m not into suit bands.

I love suit bands.... the music that those type of bands play is quite catchy. Not to mention the guys look hot in their suits....oh and when they add a little eyeliner.;)
