40 Day Dream lyrics ("must be a lie" vs "it aint no lie")?
I've noticed that when Alex preforms the song live he changes the lyrics on the hook from "must be a lie" to"... it ain't no lie". I
don't know if he ever clarified this or someone can answer why he does that?
I remember several of the more negative reviews of the album used that exact line "must be a lie" in a sardonic way of mocking the bands
authenticity. Which was pretty crappy I thought.
I wonder if that's why he changed it.

I wouldn't bet that its because of those reviews. I have noticed it, but its not every time he does it either.

man, i dont get any the haters on this band.
sure, go ahead and say, "it doesn't do it for me." but they go and cry about authenticity as if people are only allowed to make certain types of
music.
i guess you're only allowed to make hippie-folk music if you were raised in a commune? in this day, what is authenticity?
i say, the more white kids rapping, asians playing country music and any other thing that doesn't "fit," all the better.

I agree with your statement Rob.
Alex also does sing different lyrics to other songs live, then what is on the album. Home has changed numerous times, and not just the part where Alex
and Jade talk in the middle either, but little things here and there He and Jade both change.
Part of me says that if I was a singer, I'd like to switch it up a bit to instead of singing the same thing every day
