Tim, Alex, and Oligee are the spring chickens of the lot and their resumes prior to Ima Robot include the following:
Tim - Started on guitar, moved into production work, then pursuaded to take up guitar again when Ima Robot was first formed.
Alex - Previously an MC, currently a co-owner of The Transmission House art space in Los Angeles.
Oligee - Musical journeyman in L.A., however specific former band names for all these three is info we're still working on.
JMJ - Perhaps best known for his bass alchemy backing up Beck, Justin has also worked with such artists as Macy Gray, Air, Turin Brakes, Tori Amos,
Ladytron, Marianne Faithful, The Mars Volta, Frank Black, Mark Eitzel, Sean Lennon, and Pete Yorn. He was also a member of the influential Los
Angeles band Medicine and has somehow found time in his busy career to appear in, and contribute music to, the film "Laurel Canyon." For a
more complete bio, check out JMJ's official site
HERE.
Joey Waronker - Another Beck alum from way back, Joey has developed a reputation in the music business for being both a class act and possibly the
greatest rock drummer of his time. Sounds flowery, but with a discography that includes work with The Smashing Pumpkins, REM, Tonic, Elliot Smith,
Gus, Remy Zero, The Vines, and Richard Thompson, it appears that many seem to agree. Joey has also amassed some impressive credits as a film score
composer and arranger, evidenced by his work on "Chuck And Buck" and the aforementioned "Laurel Canyon." An aging but
illuminative interview with Joey can be found
